Isabella's POV

She stared into the dark abyss of the water. Her reflection staring right back at her, mirroring her every move. She tucked back the loose strands of hair that dipped into the lake water. She couldn't see anything in there. Even if she strained her eyes enough, the clear see-through water that you met at the shore grew thicker and thicker. So the farther you went the more dense it got. Bella was a pretty good swimmer though, so she didn't fear drowning. After all, she was on the swim team at her school, and she competed in almost every relay there is. Her school has never ever lost swimming competition, mainly because of her.

Her gaze averted from the water to the hotel, that was only a few blocks away from the lake. It was really tall so you could see the fancy hotel from behind the trees. It was Bella and her family's first full day on their vacation. It took forever to get here by car yesterday. So by the time they did, it was already dark.

She slowly got up from her position on the paddle board. Extending her arms forward so they reached the end of the board. Casually, she grabbed the floating oar from the lake water and rested it on top of the board, holding it with her two hands out in front of her. Her legs slowly dunked into the water on opposite sides, going up to her knees. Then she just sat there. Her life was mostly consumed with music, but shes never experienced the natural melody of the outside. Bella lived in a quiet community, but the country takes it to the next level. She was already out in the middle of the lake. She couldn't even hear the faint chatter coming from her family on the public patio next to where the small paddle boats and canoes were docked.

She could hear the trees rustle in the background when the wind danced through them. Bella watched as small ripples formed in the water, making a butterfly effect, when a leaf fell in. She let out a small sigh leaning her head back to take in all the fresh air.

Huh?

Why was her board suddenly heavier? She slowly opened her eyes and looked to the front of her board. To her surprise, there was a silver haired boy with blueish lavender eyes leaning on her board. His torso and up were out of the water, with his arms and head on top of the board, his legs under the water. I didn't even hear him come near me.

Who the hell is this? And why is his hair white? Bella thought to herself, staring at the boy who wasn't even looking her way. Did he even realize that he was on someone else's belongings?

"This is kinda cool." He spoke up, pressing his pointer finger on the tip of the paddle board testing the sturdiness of it. "Is it yours?"

Finally he looked up from the board, looking Bella in the eye. The sparkle in his eyes shined, his face lit up with curiosity kind of like a cat. The smile he had would probably send most girls into orbit. And if she was being honest, she would have fell for his charms immediately as well. But not after he acknowledged her AFTER he was done looking at her board. He should have asked her first before touching it, like who does he think he is?!

The peacefulness that previously surrounded the lake was abruptly shaken away by this silver haired cat eye piece of-

"Yo."

Bella turned her attention to the boy, her face clearly ticked off.

"I asked you a question." Despite the tone in his voice, he still didn't look mad.

"Yes the board is mine." Her left eye twitched. No shit. She thought to herself.

"Whats your name?" His eyes now focused exactly on her.

"I believe you already asked a question. My turn." She snapped at him. She chuckled to herself as she saw the sudden change in the boys facial expression.
