The Avengers (Cap Story) Marvel Story Book 5

Chapter 6- Angel with a Shotgun.

Joy P.O.V

I am thrown back by a blast. My back slams into the ground and I skid across, smashing into dead Chitauri bodies with goo or their blood coming out of them. My back burns with cuts and I groan in pain. I hear the rushing of feet and I stand up on guard to fight any enemies.

I look up at Steve, who was the one running at me. I straighten my posture, but wince and hope they didn't catch it. Steve had to of course and he turns me around with a gasp. I feel hands on the bare skin of my back and I gasp jumping forward, away from the touch.

I look back and I can see smears of blood coming out of my back. Dang it, why do cuts have to be my kryptonite? I take an earpiece out of my pocket and place it in my ear and wince as I bring my arm up.

"Joy, I think you need to step out of this fight." Steve says and I shake my head and I can see a little anger building. I press the button on the ear piece I put into my ear.

"Lily, bring it." I say and hear her answer with a yes ma'am. I step away from them and spread out my arms, while cringing and wincing with the effort. They group watches me and looks at me like I'm crazy. I hear foot steps behind me and I know it's the aliens. I see Steve running and I put my hand up for him to stop. He does so but looks worried.

I hear the repulsors on the thing Lily is bringing. The footsteps get closer and so does the sound. I turn around and aim my hand forward at the alien and suddenly an arm attaches to my arm and then to my chest and back, leaving my legs alone. I take the machine gun out of my suit and shoot the alien in the head.

I feel the coolness that Lily brought to my back. See wraps it up inside of the suit top and I look over at the group. I walk to them with the top on. Metal is at my chest and covers my stomach back. My arms have this stretchy top that has metal in it, but it also makes me move easily.

"This was for emergencies and nobody makes me back down from a fight." I say and I walk to the middle of the group. "Guys let get into this fight." I say and we all run. I run over to Natasha and Clint. I begin fighting Chitauri and a familiar song comes to my mind. I start singing it under my breath as I take down Chitauri, unfortunately I did not notice my ear piece on.

"Get out your guns, battles begun." I kick and alien in the face.

"Are you a saint or a sinner?" I take out my whip and light it up.

"If love's a fight, then I shall die." My whip whistles through the air.

"With my heart on the trigger." I kick a Chitauri away from its gun.

"They say before you start a war."

I use my whip and it wraps around another body, splitting it in half. I see a flame above me and see Johnny Storm shooting aliens with his fire.
"You better know what you're fighting for."
"Well baby, you are all that I adore."
"If love is what you need, a soldier I will be."

I have about ten aliens surrounding me. I use my whip in one hand and throw fireballs with my other one. I run at an alien and it aims its gun at me. I duck to avoid the shot and I kick its feet out from under it. I continue on singing the song under my breath.

"I'm an angel with a shotgun."
"Fighting 'til the wars won," I run over to help Steve, Bee and Bucky who are surrounded by aliens. I fly into the sky and use my whip cracking it against the back of the alien heads while trying to avoid blasts from their guns.
"I don't care if heaven won't take me back."
"I'll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe." I think of Steve for some reason. I don't really know why though. We're just partners. I finish off the aliens surrounding them and I run to take out some on the other side of the bridge.
"Don't you know you're everything I have?"
"And I wanna live, not just survive,
Tonight." I snap a neck and kick an alien in the face.
