Last time Jensen had been to YVR, Miles and Rocky were getting on the plane with her. Miles had work in Atlanta for a little while when Jensen was filming Guardian.
A quarter of the way through filming, Miles and Rocky had headed back to Vancouver.
Halfway through filming, Jensen found out she was pregnant. Needless to say, she was hoping her trip to London was a lot less exciting than having her co-star hold her hair back while she vomited in between takes in the morning.
But this trip was already different. Jensen knew that. This was holding Rocky's hand a little tighter in hopes that maybe she'd feel it until Jensen got home. It wasn't holding her hand so she didn't run in front of them and get lost because she was excited to visit somewhere—without thinking a plane was in between A and B.
"Did you text Tina?" Jensen asked. She and Miles had stayed up too long the night before, so her voice was dressed with sleep. Lack thereof. Every second was worth it.
Miles smiled softly. "I did." He pressed a soft kiss to the back of her hand and whispered, "Same answer I gave you ten minutes ago."
Jensen winced. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay." Miles squeezed her hand. "She's meeting you at the gate. Gatwick has a car for you. You'll be escorted. Complete privacy. No stress."
"Thank you." Jensen swallowed hard.
Miles bumped his hip against hers gently. "You can pay me back by sending me a picture of you in front of Buckingham Palace."
"I don't think Scott's as good of a photographer as you," Jensen said as she stopped in front of security.
Miles' smile faltered as his eyes darted to the entryway Jensen would be walking through. When she convinced herself to. "I think the subject makes the photo great."
Jensen smiled softly. And wrapped her arms around Miles. Tightly. If she squeezed him tight enough, maybe he'd shrink and she could take him with her. Miles kissed her cheek. Jensen pressed her head into his shoulder.
"Come on," Miles said. His voice shook slightly. "Don't get all weepy on me, Rhodes."
Jensen pulled away, looking up at him. Tears brimmed in his eyes.
"Don't," Jensen said, her hand on his forearm. "If you do it, I'll do it."
"You should hug our kid," Miles said, "And not look at me."
"I'm not going to be gone that long."
"I know." Miles scratched the back of his neck.
"I'm going to say goodbye to Rocky now, okay?"
Miles nodded.
Jensen kneeled down in front of Rocky and put her hands on her arms. "Hey, little queen."
"Hi, mama." Rocky's voice was slightly muffled by her superhero mask—Miles Morales was always a favourite for her, so she had that on to go to the airport.
"I gotta go, baby girl," Jensen said.
Rocky hugged her tightly. "I love you."
"Love you too, baby girl," Jensen said, hugging her tightly. "You're going to have such a great time hanging out with your dad."
"I'm gonna miss you," Rocky said.
