I collapsed on the couch in the living room letting my exhaustion finally take over. We had spent so much time unpacking and buying groceries that the sun had long since departed from the sky. Tom came into the living room and joined me on the couch. "Does it feel like home yet?" he asked.

"It does actually. I almost forgot I was in a foreign country for a second," I replied.

The doorbell rang causing Tessa to immediately start barking. She ran to the door to greet whomever was waiting on the other side. Tom got up and followed her to the door. He grabbed a hold of her collar before opening it. Her attempt to lunge at the delivery man was thwarted by Tom's grip. Tom paid the delivery man with his free hand before coming back inside.

"Food's here!" Tom called out as he headed for the dining room. I got up off the couch and went to the kitchen to grab plates and utensils. There was something about us sitting together and eating that made feel like we were a married couple. And I did not mind that feeling in the slightest.

After dinner we got ready to head to bed. To say I was nervous would have been an understatement. Sure we had slept in the same bed before but that was once and it had been a while since then. Hell, even laying with him that morning hadn't prepared me for this. It was like all of my confidence had been sucked out of me. I pulled on my shorts and an oversized shirt before climbing into bed. Tom emerged from the bathroom after brushing his teeth with no shirt on. I wasn't surprised since I knew that was how he slept but for some reason I felt like I needed to avert my eyes. Tom must have noticed my awkwardness because he climbed into bed and laid down facing me. "Are you sure you're comfortable with this? I don't want you to feel like I'm rushing you. I can always sleep in the other room," he said seriously.

I responded by leaning forward and planting a kiss on his lips. "I may be nervous. But no way am I going to let you sleep in another room again."

Tom studied my face for a moment. He then cupped my chin with his hand and brought our lips together once more. I let myself get lost in his kiss. I savored every second his lips were on mine. But all good things must come to an end. Tom pulled away before our kiss got too intense. Then he planted an additional kiss on my cheek before turning over and grabbing a book off of his nightstand.

I grabbed the same book and off of my nightstand. "How are you enjoying the book so far?" I asked.

"I actually like it a lot more than I thought I would. I remember I got it in the mail and thinking to myself, 'Is this really going to be a good book?'. But now I'm glad I gave it a chance. I only hope that the book I choose when it's my turn lives up to this one."

"I'm sure it will," I reassured him. We both settled in to read the chapter of the day. When I finished the chapter about fifteen minutes later I was not surprised to find Tom asleep next to me with the book resting peacefully on his chest. I smiled as I removed the book. Then I put both of our books on my nightstand before turning off the lights and going to sleep.

And so our peaceful life began. We spent every waking moment together. I tried to put the fact that our moments together would come to an end out of my mind. But still, every now and again that fact would tear its ugly head and the sadness would be too intense to hide. About two weeks after my arrival I woke up to an empty bed. After brushing my teeth and hair I threw on my robe and headed out into the living room. There I heard Tom's voice coming from the kitchen. The sound of something sizziling in a pan could be heard as he said, "Were you able to get those tickets I requested?" Assuming this was a coversation I wasn't supposed to hear I loudly made my presence known as I entered the kitchen. Tom hung up his phone and looked at me with a panicked expression.

"Who was that?" I wondered.

"No one. I didn't know you were awake," he replied with panic still in his eyes.

"I just got up," I responded.

His shoulders relaxed as relief washed over him. I hid my smile behind my hand. My eyes traveled towards the table in our breakfast nook and the massive spread that lay upon it. There were fruit bowls, breakfast sandwichs, omlets, waffles, bacon, and every other breakfast food I could imagine. It felt like I was home again.

Tom saw my eyes wander and began to explain before he was even asked. "I figurred I'd give you a small taste of home. This is just one of the many surprises I have planned for today."

"Oh really?" I said with my eyebrows raised. "What else do you have planned?"

The smirk on Tom's face was adorable. " That's for me to know and you to soon find out."

We sat down and began to eat breakfast. I kept trying to get Tom to spill the beans on where we were going but he wouldn't break. After breakfast we cleaned up and got ready for our day. I spent a few minutes standing in the closet pondering over what outfit to wear. It wasn't easy to choose when you had no clue where you were going. Finally I gave up and shouted, "Babe what should I wear?"

No response came. I poked my head out of the closet to find the bathroom door closed. I heard the water in the sink running and assumed he was brushing his teeth. I was proven wrong when I was greeted by my very naked boyfriend with a towel wrapped loosely around his waist. His tooth brush hung out of his mouth as he looked at me in surprise. The surprise only lasted a moment before he gave me a mischievous grin. "Couldn't wait?" he asked me.

I slammed the door shut and hurried back to the closet. I could feel the heat wafting off of my face as Tom's cackles traveled through the bathroom door. He was still chuckling to himself as we climbed into the car. As we pulled out onto the main road i crossed my arms and turned my pout up to max. "If you're going to keep laughing at me then you have to tell me where we're going."

"I most certainly do not," Tom retorted. "Besides, it's a surprise."

"But you're horrible at surprises!"

"Which is why you should be proud of me for keeping this a secret for so long. I've almost spilled the beans so many times it's actually hilarious."

I sighed and sat back in my seat. "Then I guess I'll trust you for now. You haven't disappointed me yet."

"Trust me, I've got everything planned out."

And so I did. I turned to look out the window and enjoy the sights. We only had two weeks left together before Zac and Aiden landed which meant I only had two weeks left of alone time with Tom. And I was planning on making the most of it.
