We were preparing to leave the office, everyone is excited given that it's a holiday tomorrow and followed by the weekend. "Alex, do you have plans for this long weekend?" Yuna asked me as she dropped off some of the documents that I requested.
"Actually, I do. Tomorrow is errands day and then I plan on fixing my room and setting up the rooftop on Saturday. I don't know if we would be fixing the studio, but given that the musicians in the house might need it sooner, so that's a possibility."
"Well, good luck on your tasks but try to rest and relax."
"Thanks. I will definitely rest on Sunday. How about you? are you excited for Japan? Bang-Bang said that you will be going with him tomorrow. You deserve the vacation!!!" I told her.
"It's not really a vacation you know? I'm there as your dad's secretary, personal assistant and anything else." She said.
"Psssh! You better enjoy your trip, you've been working non-stop, and if I'm not mistaken, you haven't taken a vacation in over a year. Visit a museum, check out the local park, go to shopping." I urged her, although I know that she won't follow my advice, she's too much of a homebody.
"We'll see. This is my first time out of the country and I'm excited." Yuna said, a brilliant smile on her face. "I have to go now, I'll need to do some last minute packing. Bye!"
"Enjoy your trip. Don't forget to tell Bang to get me something!" I shouted at her.

The boys were waiting for me at the lobby, talking about something that I couldn't hear. "Are you guys ready to go?" I asked them as I approached them.
"Yes Manager. I was just asking Yoongi-hyung what he prefers to eat." Namjoon said. "Manager, guess what?!"
"What?"
He leans into me and half-whispered, "He can cook." Looking at me pointedly.
My eyes got big and turned to Yoongi, "You can? I mean, I'm glad that you can cook." I said to him. "We can do grocery shopping now if you want, because there's not much in the food in the house." We were in the car now, Joonie sitting at the back, Yoongi sitting beside me.

We have arrived at the supermarket, Yoongi was pushing the cart, Namjoon and I were trailing behind him. "What are the ingredients at home? It's so I would know what else is needed." Yoongi asked me.
I heard him but it was best to not look at him Joonie nudged me with his hand, "Well, uh, actually, to be honest with you, we didn't do grocery shopping for quite some time, so there's basically nothing there. You can get all the things that you would need to cook anything." I said to him, not meeting his eyes. I was embarrassed that there's nothing at home since we don't know how to cook.
He stopped in his tracks and looked back at the two of us, "You mean to say that you guys don't have anything at home? What do you eat then?" He asked, disbelief in his voice. "How do you guys survive?"
"Well, what we would do is either we eat before we go home, or buy it, or we would have delivery." I explained to him.
"Aish, fine, come on then." Yoongi said. He starts pushing the cart again and we timidly follow him. He starts piling up meat, vegetables and other items on the cart, I couldn't help but look at what he's getting. "You've been living alone for some time already, you never learned to cook?" He asks me.
I shake my head no, "I tried, I mean, I really did, but I guess cooking and me, we are not compatible."
"Tsk! Tsk! How will you ever find a husband if you don't know how to cook?"
"Are you mocking me? Insulting me? Teasing me? And I never see you as a feminist." I said to him.
He holds his hands up, "I'm just teasing you. But, kidding aside, you really never learned?"
I nodded at him, pleased that he was just teasing, "You know, I really wanted to cook. There are so many recipes that I want to try. I even bought food magazines, but even the simplest of recipes, I can't do it."
He nods at this and continue along. He's now piling different bottles of sauces and eventually says that he's done. We head to the checkout counter and I hand the card allocated for groceries. We head to the car and went home.

Once home, we were greeted by Ghost with excited yips and jumps. He keeps barking at Yoongi since he's the newcomer. "Hey Ghost. How have you been? Were you a good boy?" I said petting him. "This is Yoongi, he's going to stay here from now on too. And you know what Ghost, he knows how to cook."
Yoongi shakes his head and brings the grocery bags to the kitchen, Joonie follows with thw other bags. I put Ghost down and head to my room to change into my normal house clothes, which is a big shirt and shorts. I opened the terrace door for a bit to let in some air inside my room.
Heading back out, I went straight to the kitchen and I saw Yoongi chopping already. "Don't you want to change into something else?" I asked him, leaning back on the countertop. "And where's Joon?"
"I'll change later. I think he's taking a shower." He said focused on what he's doing.
"Would it be bothersome if I watch you?"
"You can watch, it's fine with me."
"Yey. So, what are you going to cook?"
"Bulgogi. The beef is in the freezer, I'll be cutting it in a little while."
"Did you say Bulgogi?" I ask him, "oh wow! I'm salivating already."
He smiles and nods his head, "Now I'm really wondering how you survived all this time." He starts chopping again.
"Is there anything that I can help you with?"
"Sure, can you get the onions? Get me 2 please."
I got the onion and was handing it to him when he finally looked at me, "Tha-" he stopped midway and looked me up and down.
"What? Is there something on my face?" I ask him, he continues to stare at me, I wave my hand in front of his face. "Yoongi?" I call his name again, and that's when he snaps out of it. "What happened to you? You were fine one second and then you were gone."
"Uh, well, uh." He turns his back and shakes his head.
"Yoongi?"
"Yes?"
"Where should I put the onions?"
"Oh, right. You can put them there on top of the cutting board." He said, finally facing me. "Uh, you normally wear shorts when you're at home?"
"Well, yes, especially during the summer, it's comfy." I said, "Is there a problem with what I'm wearing?"
"Uh, well, yes, I mean no. There's no problem with it, however, wouldn't it be awkward since there are guys here?" He asked me.
"I don't know. Do you feel awkward Yoongi?" I asked him back.
"Manager!" Namjoon called out, interrupting us. "There you are, Yoongi-hyung said that he's cooking Bulgogi. How great is that?" Joonie said excitedly.
I laugh and nod my head yes, "Yes Joonie. It's such a treat right?" I turn around, got a glass of water and drank, it's like I was suddenly thirsty. Yoongi continued to prepare the meal with us just watching him. I tried to engage him conversation, but his clipped answers more or less told me that he's no longer in the mood to be talkative.
I decided to set the table now so that when the food is ready, we would be able to eat right away. I was putting down some cushions on the floor so that we won't be sitting on the hard wood floor when I heard Joon ask Yoongi how he learned to cook, I didn't hear his answer, I strained to hear what else they were saying but Ghost started to get my attention. I bend down and checked on him, "What's up little guy? Are you hungry already? Let me get your food and water then." I got up and went to the kitchen, I was preparing his food when Yoongi finished cooking.
"Our food is ready as well, we can go ahead and eat also." He said without looking at me. He started to bring the pot to the table and Namjoon brought the rice pot with him.
We were all sitting on the floor, Namjoon looking so amazed at the food in front of us. "Hyung, thank you for cooking for us." I smile at Joonie and turn to Yoongi, "Yes, this is the first time that a home cooked meal is being served here in our home. I'm grateful that you cooked for us, and even more thankful for the next coming meals." I see Yoongi smiling, but not quite meeting our eyes.
"Seriously? All I did was put together these ingredients and it's quite easy, no need for such admiration and praises." He said dismissively.
"It's just that, for Joonie and I not being able to cook well - okay, at all, this is a feast. A celebration of some sort is in order, hmmm." I stood up, went to the fridge and got a bottle of soju. "A celebration indeed. I know that we are under the limit of the drinking age, so this only happens on special occasions. I am responsible for all of us, so please, bear in mind that we only do this once in a while, and not get too much of it. Agreed?" I look at both of them and saw that they are both staring at the bottle.
"How did you get?"
"Where did you get?"
They both said at the same time. "I got it from Bang's stash. He has a lot of them at home, he won't notice a few ones missing." I smile innocently at them.
"Well, what are we waiting for, let's eat." Namjoon said. We did in and ate in high spirits. Yoongi opened the bottle of soju and started pouring for us.
"Namjoon, since you're the youngest, we would have to cut you off at 3 shots okay?" Yoongi declared.
Joonie nodded at this, understanding what his hyung is trying to tell him. "As for you," Yoongi said, looking at me, "How many is your limit?"
"I can drink two and half bottles." I said.
"Really? And how were you able to do that?"
"Bang." As if that's enough as an explanation, then he looked confused, "Bang taught me different kinds of drinks when he found me drinking his alcohol." I said.
"Ah, no wonder. I understand now. One day, we'll see how well you can really drink, but for now, let's settle with this, since we have a lot of cleaning and organizing to do tomorrow."
We finished eating and were just talking about anything and everything. Knowing more about these boys, I feel at ease. Listening to them talk and laughing at how they bond over music, it makes me feel that good about the future.
Pouring the last shot of soju into my shot glass, Yoongi pouts at me, I pour half of it into his and we toast, "Let this be the start of something great, something where our heart and soul are happy and content. May we never fight or if we do, we would be able to resolve it before we sleep at night." I say to Yoongi and Joon, although, I don't think Joonie was listening, as he was busy listing something on a piece of paper.
Yoongi smiles at me, nodding his head, "I agree, and also, let us always be happy in whatever we are doing. But most importantly, let us always be healthy." Clinking his glass with mine, still staring at me, he drank his shot, at which I followed suit.
At that point, Namjoon stood up and started to bring the plates back in the kitchen. An unfortunate event on our second night that involved a soapy bowl shattered to pieces made us divide the task without him involving soap. I let out a stretch, "Thank you for the food Yoongi. You made me a happy girl tonight with home cooked food and soju and great people to dine with." I said to him.
"You're very much welcome, I'm glad you like it." He said, he got up, offered a hand towards me to which I took and pulled me up.
I smile and said, "Since you cooked, Namjoon cleaned up, I'll be the one to wash."
"Let me help you."
"Nope, no way. You did a lot by cooking for us already, so it's just right that I do it as my share."
"Fine. You wash, I'll dry." He said, pulling me into the kitchen.
"I'm telling you that you can wash up and rest already, but since you're insisting, okay then." I said.
"Manager, I'll be heading to the room now okay? Good night Manager, see you tomorrow. Yoongi hyung, thank you again for dinner." Joonie said, heading to their room.
"Nightie-night Joonie. Sweetest dreams. See you tomorrow!" I said back to him.
"Hmmm."

I got two towels and handed them to Yoongi. I start to wash the dishes with water and then I got the sponge and soap. I don't know if I feel awkward, but I could tell that Yoongi was staring at me. I focus on washing the dishes even more but I could feel my cheeks burning. "Please stop staring at me, you're making me feel conscious." I say softly.
"Huh? What?"
"I said, stop staring at me."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel weird about it. I didn't even know I was staring."
"What were you thinking then?"
"Uhm, well, uh...I was not thinking about anything." He scratches his head and looks down at the floor. "So, you're the same age as me right? Although you were born a few months before me? Is that right?"
"Yes, January." I confirm, I hand him the plate which he immediately took to wipe dry.
"How lohng have you been in the company? What made you decide to work there instead of venturing out?"
"Before I met Bang, when I still had my parents, I wanted to write. I dreamt of becoming a reporter or an author; I stopped wanting to write when they died. Then Bang introduced me to music, from there, it made me write again, but not as what I previously wanted."

"You wanted to write your emotions, your thoughts and feelings, you wanted to write songs, to express yourself instead." He said, I nod at him, "No, it's not a want, you need it. You need it to release what you're feeling, whatever's inside you. I can see it in your eyes." He continued.
I sigh, "it was hard for me. I didn't want to talk to anybody when they died, not because I wanted to be alone, but because the people around me were just doing it out of pity. They are just doing it out of obligation. Bang changed that, he talked to me because he wanted to, he wanted to hear my thoughts, and for a 12 year old girl, that was more than enough for her to know the sincerity in it." I explained to him.
"I understand where you are coming from. Music and lyrics are the one that helps me stay sane. It helps me let out the stress, the horrible thoughts that runs through my mind every single day, turning it into something more than the ugly version of what they are in my mind makes it tolerable, bearable." He said softly, I hand him another plate and smile.
"People would say that it's the artistic juices, but really, we are just better in expressing with music than in talking it out." I add.
We continue with the chore before us, when I start to hum Jamming. I was handing him the last of the dishes when he started to hum with me. I smile and continue on, and when we got to the chorus, I start to sing with him bopping to it. When the song ended, he was laughing. "What? Why are you laughing?
"Nothing, it's just that, I never thought that you would like Reggae music."
"Oh come on, who doesn't like reggae? It's a pick me up music and who doesn't know Bob Marley?"
"I just never imagined it. I seem to be always being caught in surprise by you."
"Then, I'm tellling you now, my prefered type of music varies depending on the situation or what I'm feeling."
"Really? What are the choices then?"
"Well, I listen to a variety - there's pop, hip-hop, rnb, jazz, classical, alternative, rock, a bit of heavy metal, grunge, funk, disco, a little bit of this and that." I count off.
"And reggae.
"Yes, and reggae."
"That's something to see."
"You don't believe me." It wasn't a question, I know that he's doubting what I was saying. "If that is the case, tomorrow, I will show you."
"Why don't you show it to me now?"
"It's late, and we're supposed to clean the house. And you traveled since this morning. I promise, tomorrow you'll get to see it."
"Okay then, I'll be off to the room and get my stuff. I'll just take a quick shower and then sleep. It really has been a long day, but it went well. And it was all because of you, so, thank you. Till tomorrow, when I get back to zero balance with teasing you." He said with a laugh and then running off to their room.
"You! Argh! Yoongi, you're crazy!" I laugh and just shook my head. It was indeed a long day, but I have to admit, it did went well.
