It was finally the night before debut. The boys were all antsy and nervous. I could feel it even if they don't talk about it. In fact, they are not talking much, that I knew they are feeling this way. They were all gathered in the living room, and I was standing by the kitchen looking at them. I approached them and they all looked up at me.
"Why are you guys so gloomy? Nervous? Scared?" I asked them, they all just nodded at me and looking at their faces, their eyes were all big and looking like they were about to cry. "Why?"
"What do you mean why noona?" Kookie asked.
"Why do you feel that way? I mean, yes, it's natural to feel that way, but I've been with you guys from the start. I've watched you work your asses off and I watched how you all worked hard for you to reach this part in your career." I started. "You've done all you could and you've reached out to your fans. Your fans! Even before your debut, you already have fans. I've been keeping tabs on everything on social media and I can proudly say that it's overwhelming and you all deserve this."
"But what if-?" Hobi couldn't continue, his voice getting softer.
"What if you don't receive good reviews? What if they don't like it? What if you fail?" I said. "So what? I'm not entirely an expert on these things, but I know what you guys are capable of. There would be bashers, I'm sure of it, but I know also that there would be those that would be there for you guys. I believe in all of you and you should believe in yourself too."
"We do Manager, it's just that, we couldn't help but feel that we wouldn't be able to succeed." Joonie said, voicing others' feelings.
"What are you guys called again?" I asked them, they murmured their answer. "I'm sorry what? I can't hear you."
"Bangtan Sonyeondan." They all said, a little louder this time.
"Yes, and what does that mean?" I asked them, they didn't answer me but I knew then that they are starting to realize that their fears are being quickly washed away by determination. "That's right. I know that you guys would be able to persevere any hardships, conquer any fears and win over anything. It may seem bleak now, but just you wait, I believe in you guys and I have faith in you." I said. Slowly they got up and crowded around me, hugging me.
"Thank you Manager for believing in us." Joonie whispered in my ear.
"Thank you noona." Kookie said, "You don't know how those words are helping me right now."
I smiled at all of them, "We are in this together. You are my babies and of course no matter what, we will do everything and work together. We are one team, one family here."
Yoongi smiled at me, and I saw in his eyes that he was happy that we had this little talk. "Okay, now, I'd like you all to sleep because we are going to prepare early tomorrow."
"I can't believe this!"
"Is this real?"
"Oh my god! Look at them all."
The boys were all gathered beside me and I couldn't help but smile at them. They were excited and I could feel their energy rushing through me too. There were a few hundred people waiting outside and I am not exaggerating to say that the smiles on their faces might literally break their lips if it got any bigger.
"Okay you guys, are you ready?" I asked them.
"YES!" They said, Kookie and Tae jumping in excitement.
"Calm down both of you. I want you to enjoy okay?" I said to them. They all nodded and I watched them as they went out and greeted the crowd with such big smiles on their face.
