I laugh watching Suze pull Lonny into a headlock and ruffle his hair. It's quite obvious that the boy is letting her do it because despite his skinny looks he is much stronger than one would think. I saw the guy effortlessly carry three cases of water from the car to my kitchen for my mom. He was straining at all.

I mean that isn't the weirdest thing I have seen since hanging out with this group either. I swear, sometimes I can see purple stars in Jake's eyes but only if he is actually looking at me. It is like he is studying me, waiting. I can't tell if he is someone after the book or if he is just attracted to me and is trying to refuse it. Frank, Kass, and Suze seem to be the most normal, meaning I haven't seen anything odd from them... Yet.

You can't be too careful when protecting the world's most desired spellbook for one of the most fearsome warlocks there are.

Anyway, it was decided that we would have a game night and they would stay over for the night. I've enjoyed having friends, even human one or maybe not so human, but I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop. I don't have friends for a reason... Shea. Now I doubt she would grace us with her presence so that she may turn a couple of humans against me but I wouldny put it past her. All it takes is for her to get even partially bored. Torturing me is her favorite pastime.

Time flies by as we joke around and play games and before we know it it is almost one in the morning. I haven't seen Draven since I was attacked. After I got out of the shower my room was almost spotless clean. There was a note on my bed, sloppy and obviously hurried.

Be back soon. Don't die.

It's been almost a week. I had a witch try to disguise herself as a little girl selling candy for school but her cat-like eyes gave her away but he didn't show. I would say he's coming back really late but I would know. I hardly ever sleep and when I do it either a really light sleep or one filled with terrors.

I'm knocked out of my thoughts by Kass grabbing my shoulder with a wide smile on his face. "I was saying how I took you to the mall the other day and you had like eight guys try to give you their number," he laughs which is true. Weak minded individuals are drawn to me due to me being a fairy.

"It was a bit annoying. I just wanted to get some shoes," I mutter, making them laugh.

"I can't blame them, you're rather gorgeous," Suze says.

"You are too."

Eventually, we work out who is sleeping where. Suze will be in the upstairs guest room, Kass and Frank will be in the basement guest room, and Jake insisted on the couch. "I'll be back, I'm going to go change," I say before heading upstairs to my bedroom. When I change into my pjs, I notice a spark above my bed. What the hell?

I gasp as the spark turns to fire before it falls on my bed. I jump on my bed to go to put it out but a worn out paper is in its spot with burned edges. The handwriting is a bit slanted and obviously was just quickly scribbled on it.

Demons closing in.

After you and book.

Coming back soon.

I recognize it as Dravens handwriting which would make the most sense in the scenario. Why would demons want the book? I mean, I understand witches, wolves, vampires, creatures like that. I thought demons already had their own magic, like how Draven can send me this note and disappear. A shiver runs down my back making an eerie feeling fill me. I don't like this feeling or this note.

"Whatcha got there?"

A squeak pushes past my lips as I turn around on my bed and shove it under me. I am met with caramel eyes which only makes my heart beat faster. Why is he here? "My friend left me a note, he went out to a club and told me to cover for him with my mom."
