Chapter 1

HI, my name is Davion. I'm from Middlebrook High, right in the middle of Sunny Side, South Dakota. I've been here all my life. It hasn't been the best life for me. I have two sisters, Ella and Elle. They are my sisters and two of the hardest things on Earth to deal with. They are 24 and 22. I'm 17. A suffering high school student with nothing to live for. I lost my mom at a young age to a mass shooting. And my dad was never there for me and my sisters. I've been living with my uncle Josiah for most of my life. Him and his wife fight so much and it sucks to see it. And when I was younger, I used to get abused by him. I wished I could always leave but I had nowhere to go. All I had to depend on me getting out of this hellhole was my grades and my beautiful girlfriend Sariah. She's literally the light of my life. Sharp jawline, braces, natural hair everything that I love in a girl. Plus that blue Hyundai she drives makes my soul bling. Just always great to be around her. Everybody says that she isn't the one for me and she is cheating on me but I didn't pay attention. She was the only thing that made me happy in life, so why listen to the haters? Anyways, it's the first day of my senior year and I'm so excited to be heading back to school and finishing this year out strong. Ive already got a few scholarships to go to some universities like Towson and Middle Tennessee. My dream college is Howard. So I'm hoping to be accepted this upcoming year. I'm getting dressed up for the day. Toss on my Levi's with the holes in the knees, my Thrasher tee, and red and black flan, and my white and red Blazers and head out. Grab the keys to my '94 Honda Civic and head to school. I approach my first class and see something that makes me break down.
