Chapter 6: The Disturbing Scientist Shockwave!

So in the last chapter Kenneth spent the day with Soundwave and got to know the hacker/assassin of the Decepticons. Soundwave also warmed up to Kenneth quite a bit. Although there is still one last member of the Decepticons that Kenneth has yet to meet.

Kenneth woke up feeling well rested, which immediately had him on high alert, while his Insomnia didn't effect him every night, it was still hard for him to get to sleep on a good night. So for him to have passed out without him remembering had him worried. Kenneth tried to sit up only to god he was on some kind of steel sheet that had clamps over his ankles and torso. Kenneth let out a sigh of defeat as he finally took a look around the room and found that he appeared to be in some kind of high tech laboratory. "What the heck am I doing here?" Kenneth mumbles to himself as he continued to look around the room.

           Kenneth laid there staring up at the ceiling as he tried to figure out who could of possibly brought him here. "Knockout? No she's way to friendly to do this, if she wanted to talk she'd have just stopped by my room. Dreading? Unlikely, she still hates me. Skyquake? Maybe this is her way of teasing me again." Kenneth thought to himself as he still couldn't figure out who could have brought him to this room and restrained him like this. "Oh it appears your finally awake my little lab rat." A sultry voice said as Kenneth heard the click of heels and turned to see a silver haired girl with a gas mask on her face.

           "Um, hello who are you exactly?" Kenneth asked as he had not been introduced to this member of the Decepticons at any point in time. "How adorable you are, my name is Shockwave my dear lab rat, the Scientist of the Decepticons." Shockwave said as she sat on the edge of the bed as she pulled up a holographic screen. "I must say, despite your rather slime frame, your body is impressively toned and muscles for some your size." Shockwave said as she looked through her notes with a bored look in her eye. "W-Well when your in my line of work you need some level of strength in order to get the job done." Kenneth said in an embarrassed tone as he tried to calm himself down as best as he could.

                Shockwave put away the holographic screen as she turned to look at Kenneth. "Yes, well I've always wanted a human test subject, then you came along." Shockwave said as Kenneth noticed how the look in her eye became rather dangerous. "S-So are you gonna like cut me open or something?" Kenneth asked as he thought that was all to real of a possibility given his current situation. To his surprise Shockwave let out a laugh at his statement. "No, of course not! Your much to adorable to cut up! No I'm more curious in human behavior and disease." Shockwave explained as she let out another laugh as Kenneth still felt slightly uncomfortable being around the scientist.

"Well I'd be happy to help you, but do you think you could let me go? These restraints are uncomfortable." Kenneth said as Shockwave looked down at his restraints. "Oh, well those were to prevent from leaving if you woke up before I got back. One moment." Shockwave said as she went over to a computer before pressing a few keys on it as the restraints retracted. Kenneth sat up before stretching his stiff joints. "Thank you Shockwave, now how can I help you?" Kenneth asked as he turned to look at the Scientist. "Oh an eager little lab rat! Don't worry I have plans for you!" Shockwave said as Kenneth felt his skin crawl at her words.

              Soundwave woke up to her cheek being licked by Howlback as she looked around her room. "Off." Soundwave ordered as Howlback stopped her affection at the command. Soundwave noticed that she had slept in, which was a rarity for someone like her. Soundwave put on her mask on as she slipped on a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt before sitting at her computer chair. Soundwave looked over each of her monitors, everything seemed to be in order until she noticed the camera to Shockwave's lab. Soundwave used her trained eye to look over the monitor.

Soundwave noticed that Kenneth was in the laboratory with the Scientist which had Soundwave worried. "Shockwave you bitch! You must've drugged me at dinner last night, then you did the same to Clippy!" Soundwave thought to herself as she quickly grabbed her swords before running down the hall towards Shockwave's lab. "Shockwave if you hurt a hair on Clippy's head I will cut off each of your fingers and feed them to you!" Soundwave thought to herself as she picked up the pace as she didn't want to leave Kenneth alone for to long with Shockwave.

              Kenneth was honestly surprised, despite her unnerving presence, Shockwave was rather nice. She asked him about his job before coming to work for them and asked about his friends and acquaintances. "Now Kenneth, for the most part your health seems find from all the scans my machines performed on you. That being said the scanner did pick up that your body has a severe lack of sleep, is your new environment causing you to lose sleep?" Shockwave asked with genuine concern present in her voice as she looked over at Kenneth. "That's not quite it Shockwave." Kenneth said as the Scientist's eyes widened in surprise at his words.

              "Care to explain my dear little lab rat?" Shockwave said in her usual sultry voice, but Kenneth could hear undertones of worry present in those words. "Well I suffer from Insomnia, when humans have insomnia it makes it hard for me to fall asleep even if I'm as tired as can be." Kenneth explained as Shockwave nodded her head in understanding. "I see, well this is be no means healthy, it looks like I have my new project. My dear little lab rat, I will need your help testing a new line of sleeping medicines. Will you be willing to help me in the future?" Shockwave asked as Kenneth gave her a nod.

             Before the two could continue talking, the door to the lab was cut to pieces as a very angry Soundwave entered the laboratory. "Soundwave, I don't appreciate you destroying the door to my lab." Shockwave said as she remained calm despite the obviously enraged girl. "Shut up! What the hell have you done to Clippy you bitch?!" Soundwave demanded as she presses the blade of one of her swords against Shockwave's neck. "The only thing I've done to him is talk, aside from the sleeping drug I slipped into his and your food." Shockwave said as Soundwave only presses the blade harder against the other Decepticon's neck in anger.

Soundwave felt Kenneth place his hand on her shoulder as she turned her head to look at him. "Soundwave it's fine, Shockwave really hasn't tried to hurt me in anyway! She's just been monitoring my health. She also wants me to help test some sleeping medicines she plans on making." Kenneth said as Soundwave lowered her sword before completely turning to look at Kenneth. "Why would you agree to something like that?" Soundwave asked as she looked at Kenneth like he was crazy behind her mask. Kenneth then explained the situation with his insomnia to Soundwave so she understood the situation.

Soundwave finally calmed down, but was now worried about Kenneth's consistent lack of sleep at night. "How has I never noticed that before?" Soundwave thought to herself as she remembered watching Kenneth fall asleep every night, yet she never noticed that he was never asleep. "Alright Clippy, but you do know I'll have to bring this up to Lady Megatron eventually." Soundwave said as Kenneth nodded his head in understanding. With that Shockwave walked Soundwave to the door. "I must say I'm surprised you were so concerned for the little lab rat Soundwave." Shockwave said as she looked at the other girl with a knowing smile.

"I overreacted this time, but don't think I won't hurt you if you hurt Clippy!" Soundwave growled as she threatened the Scientist, which caused Shockwave to laugh. "Don't worry Soundwave, my little lab rat is much to adorable to hurt. So he's in safe hands. You can have him after I'm done." Shockwave said as Soundwave went silent, but Shockwave could tell she was blushing. Soundwave left without saying another word to the Scientist. Shockwave let her mind wonder to Kenneth, he certainly was interesting. "Everyone seems to have taken a shine to my little lab rat, then again he is adorable so it's not that big of a surprise." Shockwave thought you herself as she made her way back into her lab where Kenneth was waiting for her.

So now Kenneth has met all the members of the Decepticons! Although now Shockwave and Soundwave now know about Kenneth's insomnia. Soundwave also eluded to telling Megatron about his Insomnia, what could that lead to? What will happen to Kenneth next on the Decepticon base? How will the new information on him affect things?
