"what do you mean 'its the wrong key'"
george asked, in pure shock.
"what the hell do you think i mean, george? its the wrong fucking key!"
dream slammed his fist on the door, creating a loud boom throughout the small, one story house.
george jumped at how aggressive the hit was.
"dream, will you calm down? seriously, pull yourself together!"
"fuck, man."
dream sighed, in pure shame.
"fuck, i just want to see you. not talk to you through a door. were supposed to be doing fun shit right now but instead were kidnapped by a dead stoner."
tears streamed down dreams face again, slamming his fist onto the door again.
"dream?"
"yeah?"
[sniffle]
"what if the keys in here."
dream was confused and mentally unprepared.
"youre literally an idiot. how would he lock the door if the key was in the room?"
"dream wait."
dream heard a collapse from the other side of the door.
"george?!"
silence.
"george!"
the sun was going down and turning the house orange.
"george?"
dream sat by the door and waited.

george woke up with a dry mouth.
"dream?"
his throat felt like it cracked each time he swallowed.
no answer.
george was lying on the cold, yellow tile in the dark, yellow room.
he slowly moved his hand to a loose tile and lifted it.
underneath was a key.
georges face lit up as he was still lying there breathlessly.
then, his world went black.

the same beam of sunlight from yesterday had returned and it woke dream up.
he was so tired.
"george are you awake?"
"yeah."
georges voice was crunchy. he needed water.
"are you okay?"
"im so thirsty. heres the key dream. get us out of here."
a larger key than the one dream found slid on the wood and hit dreams green converse.
"okay. its okay. youre going to be out of here soon."
dream stuck the key through the hole, and he twisted it and the handle at the same time. the door slid opened and bumped georges back.
"george!"
dream could not have felt more relief in his entire life.
george rolled over and tried to sit up. the bruise pained him.
