Even though everyone was silent in the van as it drove away from the town of Duckburg, tensions were beyond high.
Webby had cried all the tears she could after seeing her home for her entire life burn to the ground, her granny having been left behind as well. While Dewey comforted her, Huey simply glared daggers at the back of Louis's head. Louis felt it but didn't say anything about it. Everyone was short on sleep, and the last thing they needed now was a fight.
Della had managed to make an arm-sling for Dewey, who had hurt his right arm in the fight. Other than that, she was nearly lifeless. She hadn't said a word or looked at anyone since they'd left the manor. Violet and Lena were in the back, Jason having to stand up right next to them due to the limited seating. They tried their best to stay as far away from him as possible, but he didn't even care.
A few hours into the trip, Louis thought of something and tapped Sam on the shoulder. "Give me your phone."
"Seriously?" Huey spoke up from behind him. "Is that all you can think about right now?"
Louis ignored him. "I slipped my phone onto Thorn during the fight. If he still has it, I should be able to track him."
"Thorn? Fight? Track? Who even are you anymore?" Huey asked, causing Louis to roll his eyes and Jason to groan.
"I thought you were supposed to be smart," Louis replied sarcastically. "I'm Louis Gold."
"Well, you're not supposed to be!" Huey continued much to everyone's dismay. "You're Louie Duck! Not some wanted criminal running off with a bunch of thugs."
"Will you please shut the hell up?" Jason mumbled.
"This is insane! McDuck Manor has burnt down, the FBI is after you, and there's a crazy gang of psychos out to kill us! And it's all your fault!" Huey shouted, pointing his finger at Louis.
"Yeah? Well I never asked any of you to bail me out, that's on you," Louis simply retorted.
"We weren't just gonna let that guy lock you away. You're family!" Webby assured.
"Hasn't been like that in a year, Webbs. I left for a reason, and none of you could respect that," Louis replied, crossing his arms.
"Well I wish we hadn't. Because now, we're being hunted by a bunch of narcissistic psychos and basically being kidnapped by you and your psycho friends!" Huey yelled.
"Hey!" Jason spoke up, grabbing Huey's wrist hard. "You can talk about me that way all you want, but don't you fucking dare talk about my cousin like that or I'll kick you ass."
Dewey stepped up in front of Jason as Huey struggled to get out of his grip. "You'll have to go through me first."
"Gladly," Jason replied, letting go of Huey's wrist.
"Hey, all of you, knock it off!" Sam shouted suddenly from the front before a fight could break out right in the van. "Nobody knew this was gonna happen, so get over yourselves. Now, there's a decent motel a little less than a mile up the road where we're gonna stop for the night."
"Oh really? Who's paying for that?" Lena asked sarcastically.
"I am, out of my own pocket," Sam answered. "Unless you'd rather I pull over and let you sleep on the side of the road?" She was met with silence. "That's what I thought." She then turned to Louis and asked, "You have an estimate on the Wolves' location?"
Louis shrugged, looking at the phone screen. "The phone's still in Duckburg, but it is moving. As far as I can tell, Thorn hasn't found it yet."
Violet placed her hand on Huey's sore wrist. "Are you alright?" she asked with concern.
