Best Friend

Chapter 2

The lights dim and there are spotlights on the handsome, angelic, members of Monsta X. They open the show with FANTASIA. Oh wow. . . This is already hype! There's Joohoney with that damn cowboy hat. Seeing it in real life, he actually makes it work. My eyes are locked on them, they're perfectly in sync, not missing a beat. As they're performing, we do their fan chant. I love this so much. Woah, I am blown away by Kihyun's live vocals. I am filming this so I can have something to look back on when I get home. Alyssa is screaming in the background. On and on about how hot they are, and I can't help but laugh.

Then, the moment of truth. When Monsta X finish their song, it's CRAVITY's turn. They're risen up from below the stage and they look so good. I'm in love with them. I already know this is going to be marvelous. They open the concert with their newest song, Flame. This song is just. . . I have no words. Alyssa and I both agree that it's bound to be one of the songs of the year. We're betting all we got on that. As CRAVITY perform, we can't help but notice that the three members who stopped us before, can't keep their eyes off of us. It's cute, but it makes me wonder if they really like us or if they're just messing.

As the concert goes on, Alyssa and I are bumping to the music. This is one of the best and only concerts I've gone to. I was gonna go to a BTS concert, but they're really expensive. I opted out for the newer group because I knew it was going to be at least a little cheaper. That next moment, something unbelievable happens. . . CRAVITY pauses to speak to the crowd.
"Everyone, we would like to thank you all for coming to this show. We would like to thank our 선배님, Monsta X, for opening for us." Serim said.
"Wait. . ." Seongmin said.
"What?" Serim asked.
"Minhee, Heongjun, and I would like to invite someone on stage." Seongmin said.
"Is he talking about us?" Alyssa asked.
"I don't know. . ." I said.
"Shelly and Alyssa. Please come to the stage." Seongmin said.
"Oh my God. . ." Alyssa said, covering her face.
"Misses, please follow me." The security guard said.
"I'm scared." I whispered.
"Same." Alyssa whispered.

We go on stage and join the members of CRAVITY. We go to Minhee, Heongjun, and Seongmin. Seongmin pulls me in front of all the members, so we're center stage.
"Can you trust me?" Seongmin asked.
"Yes." I said.
"Okay." Seongmin said, then kissed me. He kissed me. . . In front of thousands of people, in front of Monsta X. In front of his members.
I pull away after quickly kissing him back, "What was that?"
"I like you. I really like you. Let's get to know each other." Seongmin said.
"I understand, but you didn't have to kiss me in front of thousands of people." I said.
"Are you mad?" Seongmin asked.
"A little." I said.
"I'm sorry. We'll have real first kiss in private. It has to be one year from now." Seongmin said.
"Why?" I asked.
"I am very busy. Let's keep in touch through text." Seongmin said.
"Woah, was that your first kiss?" Alyssa asked, pulling me away from him.
"Well, yes. He said it wasn't a real first kiss. So kinda." I said.
"Oh." Alyssa said.
"This is crazy. There's gonna be articles written about me now. . ." I said.
"Don't pay attention to those. They never tell the truth half the time." Alyssa said.
"Okay. . ." I said.

Minhee and Heongjun pull Alyssa into a little circle. They start arguing over who gets to have her. It's quite cute from how I see it. At least those members weren't as brave as Seongmin. The concert comes to an end a few songs after that. We're heading out, towards our rental car. Then, I get a text from Seongmin.
Seongmin: Monsta X sunbaenim wants to talk to you...
Me: about?
Seongmin: our future together :(
Me: They're just gonna give us advice
Seongmin: probably
I tell Alyssa to wait in the car while I go sort this out. I go into CRAVITY's waiting room to find Monsta X standing there, looking disappointed.
"I swear I can explain." I said.
"Tell us why you kissed him." I.M said.
"He kissed me." I said.
"Oh, so Seongmin made the first move?" Joohoney asked.
"Yes." I said.
"Okay, Seongmin. Please explain your reasoning behind kissing her on stage." I.M said.
Seongmin, very nervously, starts explaining why he kissed me. It was basically because he couldn't hold back his feelings anymore. I.M told him that's BS because we've only known each other for a few hours. I can see just how disappointed they are, but they have to cut Seongmin some slack. We're both young kids who just want to feel love.
"Please, Monsta X. Have mercy on us. We're just two 16 year old who are too young for our own good." I begged them.
"Okay, okay. We'll let this one slide, but know, if any of you other ones even think of dating. . . There will definitely be consequences." Joohoney said, very seriously.
"I'm sorry. Seongmin and I will remain friends for the time being." I said.
This broke Seongmin's heart, but if he wants to keep CRAVITY'S image clean, it's what he has to sacrifice. I understand that this is what has to happen.

I leave the room in tears, not even saying goodbye, not wanting to talk to any of them. I legit had a crush on Seongmin too, and to have it torn away from me, is heartbreaking. I keep thinking how much this sucks, but Seongmin is an up and coming celebrity. It would be too risky. I get back to my car, finding out that Seongmin had followed me out.
"Don't let Monsta X discourage you. We'll date secretly, okay?" Seongmin asked.
"Okay." I sniffled.
"Don't be sad." Seongmin said, hugging me tight.
"Never leave me. For as long as we can make this work." I said.
"I promise." Seongmin said, giving me the Korean pinky promise. It's where you do a pinky promise, then touch your thumbs together. It's cute.
"See you soon." I said, hugging him again.
"Yes, soon." Seongmin said.
I get into our car.
"What happened?" Alyssa asked.
"We got in trouble." I said.
"Oh, for kissing on stage? Dang." Alyssa said.
"Monsta X lectured us." I said.
"Well, I hope you and Seongmin work things out." Alyssa said.
"I hope you can choose between Minhee and Heongjun." I said.
"They're gonna have to fight for it." Alyssa said.
"Why would you do that to them?" I asked.
"Cause it's fun, I don't know." Alyssa said.
"This is gonna be an interesting next few months." I said.
"Yup." Alyssa said.
