Chapter 3- Meeting My Future Classmate

I just arrived home after hanging put with my friends. Perhaps this would really be our last get-together since I'll be leaving for California tomorrow first thing in the morning. My parents enrolled me at Pennington High which according to them is one of the best schools in the state. How could that be a best school if you don't have any friends there?

Anyway Mom asked me to clean my room because it looks like a dumpside now. I'm actually a tidy person, yet because of my super duper hectic schedule in school, I don't have any time in cleaning my room. It's been a year since I cleaned it. Not only did Mom asked me to clean my room but also pack my things for the big trip tomorrow- the permanent trip.

I started cleaning my bedside cabinet. I was dusting out all the sides but one side was particularly hard to reach. I tried reaching for that side even more until I rolled and doubled over the side of my bed.

The next thing I knew, my back was flat off and I'm already staring into the ceiling. I checked myself for cuts and bruises. Yeah, I'm just over-acting. Well, nothing seems to be broken.

"Bact to work Ria!" I said to myself.

Before I could stand up or even sit, something shiny under my bed caught my attention, so I reached out for it.

I saw a box, covered with dust. Of course I was very curious about what's inside it. Right after I dusted the lid, I opened the box.

It was full of my kindergarten and elementary mementos! My notebooks, charm bracelets from Vanessa and Sylvia, the empty medicine packet my crush gave me during the time I had an headache, christmas cards I received during my Kindergarten days which has funny doodles of santa on them, and a small glittery pink box with a big note on top of it which says "PRIVATE: FOR RIA ONLY". I opened the box but there was nothing inside it. I don't know what should be in there.

"Oh well it's not important anyway"

When I cleaned my cabinet, I noticed that the upper part is quite... dusty. Plus I saw something over ther. I got a stool and used it for me to get that thing.

I felt very surprised upon realizing that I'm holding a "small backpack"- the backpack I used when I'm in 1st grade.

I opened the small pocket in front of it and saw nothing. I turned my bag upside down and after furiously shaking it, something fell down. It rolled to the floor near my feet. I bent to pick it up, and with my hand, i dusted the dirt off.

"It's very shiny."

I raised it up, tilt it a little bit to the right, then to the left as I examined it carefully with my eyes. I saw my name on the bottom part of it.

"Oh" I stopped.

I put it inside my pocket and continued cleaning my room.

~~Mr. Johnson's POV~~

I'm already heading home when my boss called my attention. He learned that Ria will study at the same school where he enrolled his one and only son.

"So Eric, I learned that your daughter will be spending her high school days at Pennington High?"

"Oh.. Yes Mr. Stark"

"Wow what a coincidence. My son, Dylan will also be studying there. So what do you like about Pennington High?
