Yibo knew Sean was forgetful, but to forget their anniversary of all things? Yibo coudn't understand.
He kept dropping hints throughout the day while Sean failed to catch on. Eventually by the time the sunset, Yibo gave up and left to take a shower.
"Hey Gege ... I have a plan after my work.. Wanna hang out today?? The kids stays at Zoey Jie and Lu Jie's House your the only one whos left in this house..."
He shrug when he cant get an answer to the Older.
" I will do shower..."
As soon as Yibo disappeared down the hall and into the bathroom Sean jumped from his spot on the couch and tip toed into the kitchen.
He bent down in front of the sink and swung the cupboard doors open reaching behind all of the contents in the small space to pull out a large box.
Sean opened the box and pulled out the pair of Nike quickly and quietly.
He pulled another small box from the back of the cupboard and opened it to reveal a shiny silver band, the perfect size to slip onto Yibo's finger.
The water stopped running in the other end of the house and Sean's heart sped up as he quickly pulled the ring from the small box and hid it in the paper that nested inside of on of the boots.
WIth shaking hands he placed the Nike back in the box and closed it tight.
Sean ran into the living room and hid the box under the end table next to the couch before sitting cross legged and acting casual as Yibo walked in.
Yibo sulked and padded his bare feet on the floor towards the couch where he sat next to Sean.
He nuzzled into Sean's side curled into a ball and stayed silent, giving him the cold shoulder but still wanting the comfort of his closeness.
"Are you okay Honey, ?" Sean asked.
"Did you forget?"
"Forget what?" Sean asked, putting on his best poker face.
Yibo's mouth gaped open and he sat pulled away from Sean now.
"You really did forget!"
"No, No! I didn't, I was waiting. I got you something really special, I just wanted to have some fun first." Sean said winking at him and tugging him close enough to place a gentle peck on the tip of his nose before reaching under the end table.
"Close your eyes." he instructed and Yibo obeyed.
He lifted the heavy box from beneath the table and dropped infront of Yibo with a thud causing his eyes to naturally flutter open.
Already knowing what was inside the familiar box Yibo impatiently lifted the cover of the cardboard box thanking Sean million times over. .
He pulled one of the shoes from the box and attempted to stick a foot in to try it on for size.
So far so good, Sean thought.
When the balled up papers in the shoes stopped Yibo's foot from sliding in properly he grabbed them in his fists and tossed them across the room with no second thoughts and proceeded to stick his foot in.
Sean yelped and dove onto the floor after the papers and picked them up, scanning the carpet for the hidden gift just as it fell from the papers.
The glint of silver caught Yibo's eye as it hit the carpet.
"What's that, Zhan Ge???" Yibo yelled, sliding from his place on the couch and onto the itchy carpet.
"Nothing!" Sean yelled back quickly cupping his hands over the silver engagement band on the floor.
"It's nothing, Honey! Go away!" He panicked again, hiding it under his chest as his body spread out on the carpet.
Yibo put one leg one Sean's waist and started mercilessly poking at the most sensitive places in his sides.
"What is it, huh! What is it, Zhan Ge?" He asked playfully with a smile on his face.
Sean managed to roll over on to his back under Yibo's weight.
Yibo shifted the slightest bit to sit on Sean comfortably but still keep him pinned down.
"Do you really want to know?" Sean asked with a wide box grin on his face.
Yibo nodded and patiently waited, looking down at Sean and biting on his bottom lip in an attempt to hide the smile that spread wide on his face.
"Well.." Sean started
"We've been together a long time now."
"2 years, today." Yibo added.
"Exactly." Sean agreed, pulling one of Yibo 's hands into his own shaking palms.
"So I need to surprise you with something a little better than shoes."
Yibo looked at him confused as he laced their fingers together more comfortably. That's when he felt it.
He felt the pressure of the silver between his and Sean's hands.
His smile faltered and his eyes flew wide open.
He started down at Sean all color draining from his face.
When Sean was sure he felt it he sat up and knocked Yibo from his lap. Yibo sat back on his knees and watched as Sean shifted onto one knee. They sat in silence long enough for Yibo to steady his voice and pop the question.
"Yibo, will you willing to spend the rest of your life with me? Will you marry me?"
Yibo's face spread into a smile so big it made Sean's heart beat five times faster.
Yibo shuffled across the small space of carpet and settled on the inside of Sean Xiao's knee that was facing upwards and he locked his arms around Sean's waist, nodding into his chest.
Sean pushed him away just enough to slide the ring onto his finger before pulling him back into a hug.
"And you almost threw the ring away." Sean laughed cheekily as a single tear found its way out of the corner of his eye and slid down his cheek.

"I didn't know!" Yibo swatted at Sean's arm playfully in defense.
Sean laughed again from somewhere deep within his chest as he pulled Yibo into such a bone crushing hug that in made all of Yibo's air come out in an unpleasant sound.
"I love you, you Zhan Ge, Its a Yes... ." Yibo whispered.
Sean hugs Yibo. For the second time around he proposed again.
"I really thought you forgot." He said swatting again and then holding onto Sean's upper arm with minimal strength.
