Nothing's changed,
I still love you oh I still love you,
Only slightly,
Only slightly less then I used to,
My love.
~The Smiths - Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before

Ralph burst through the doorway, his feet pounding against the dirt floor as he walked through the hospital which was made of twigs, sticks and branches of trees. Where is she he thought furiously, worry burning through him.

He had been wide awake that morning and quite a lot of the night, with his chosen mate curled around him, one arm draped over his torso. Ralph had felt repulsed. He didn't want to though, but his wolf in him... it didn't want Lupa anymore, especially when he could so easily pluck up Lilac, his true companion. But the problem was he didn't love Lilac. He loved Lupa and she loved him. With everything she had. And now she was with his child. There was no way he'd leave her for Lilac.

I'm going to banish her. Ralph had thought, rather irrationally. It seemed it would be the only thing that would fix this problem. His wolf yearned for Lilac and he didn't want her. Ralph didn't want Lilac curled next to him. He didn't want to watch over her beautiful and delicate face. He didn't want to stroke her brown hair out of her magnificent blue eyes that looked like a crystal lake. He didn't even want to kiss her lips or hold her closer then anyone... That's what he told himself. That's what he repeated to himself every time her pale face appeared whenever he closed his eyes. Goddess why did she have to touch me? Ralph cursed inwardly. I'll banish her today. Ralph had decided angrily. Angered because Lilac was making him feel things for her that he didn't want to.

But then he heard a loud thumping on his bedroom door. Just like there had been the other day. Only this time, he hadn't been asleep. Ralph jumped from his bed, a feeling of slight relief swept through him as his wolf seemed to sigh in joy as Ralph put distance between himself and Lupa. If the wolf was a separate physical being, he might have scolded it into submission.

"What?" Ralph asked as he opened the door to see Jake there again.

'There was a massive fight breakout in the female rogue dorm." He responded.

"So?" Ralph's tone was dismissive and for a moment a startled look passed through Jake's eyes before reporting further.

"Two have been so injured. They're in the infirmary. One of them is Kayla."

"The half vampire?" Ralph said incredulously. "I'm not even surprised. Well now she's blown her last strike." Ralph said assuming it she attacked the other female. "I have no choice but to banish her." He sighed, internally a bit happy to be getting the half breed from his pack. Disgusting leech he thought in disgust. "Who was the other?"

"The new one, Lilac." And with that, Ralph didn't say a single word. He had simply shoved Jake roughly out of the way and sprinted towards the pack's hospital.

So here he was now, striding through the hospital, passing the many beds until he found her. Quickly he knealt beside her and without any hesitation grabbed her hand. It felt like it had been hit with lighting and his wolf yipped triumphantly, knowing that Ralph had given in to his feelings that were located deep in his soul, which were finally surfacing. In this moment, he completely forgot about Lupa. Goddess, he had even forgotten about any one else that could've previously held his attention. It was just Lilac and him.

Her face was beaten roughly. Some bruises up and down her right cheek which followed with a black eye. This would've healed already if they had taken this blasted collar off and let her connect with her wolf. Ralph thought, enraged that people were letting Lilac suffer. But then again, if she wore no collar, then I might not be able to restrain myself from having her here in front of this entire hospital. He shivered at the thought, his face growing hot.
