Lilac's POV

"I am Ralph Greenleaf, Alpha of the RiverMoon Pack. Who are you?" Ralph asked, his green eyes penetrating hers

"I am your true mate." Lilac said.

She moved forward and and his lips met hers half way.

She was the happiest she-wolf in the world.

'Yeah right, I wish.' Lilac thought glumly, her little fantasy poofing in her head as she was escorted to the jail cells, hands in Moonshine Handcuffs.

Stupid things, they were rimmed with Moonshine rocks, preventing her from shifting and running away.

But Lilac knew that even if she didn't have the cuffs on, she wouldn't, couldn't be able to leave this pack now, not ever. Her mate was here.

Ralph.

She could have touched him and let him know that she was his mate, but the guards would have killed her before she laid a single finger on him.

So she decided to wait, Lilac wouldn't give up that easily, never again.

Lilac stopped in her tracks.

There was a huge hole in the ground, with stone stepps going down.

Lilac could faintly see a fiery glow of a torch somewhere down there.

She felt a rough hand shove in the middle of her shoulder blades and gave out a little shriek as she slipped and fell down the cold stairs.

She rolled onto flat surface and layed there moaning in agony.

"Dude what the hell?!" Lilac heard one of the guards say.

"It was an accident, I didn't mean for her to go toppling down the stairs like that! I just went to give her a little push."

"I don't give two sh*ts if it was an accident, what's done is done."

And with that she heard them run down the steps.

She was turned onto her back and instantly her eyes connected with such an amazing pair of green eyes that she gave a gasp.

The guard thought that he had hurt her.

"I'm sorry, are you okay?"

"Well you kind of just pushed me down the steps, so no dumb fool."

For some reason the man smiled.

'What a funny man' Lilac thought sourly.

"That wasn't me, that was him," The guard said nodding his head in a direction, his shaggy blonde hair flicking with him.

Lilac couldn't be bothered to look or respond, she was still tired and now hurt all over, she simply closed her eyes.

She heard the man give a sigh.

Then heard the other man talk.

"Jake don't even bother trying to get her to talk, she's a rogue, she knows better."

"It was worth a try." The man called Jake sighed.

She had to grit her teeth to stop herself from shouting at them that she wasn't a damn rogue. So instead Lilac simply thought of Ralph, and that was enough to cheer her up.

Jake carried Lilac to her cell and left her there.

As soon as the door shut, Lilac bolted up in her bed, instantly seeing the bath full of water and hot steam rising off the top.
