Sean had been with Eric and Robin for a few weeks now. He had wanted to find Eveline and the others but after telling Eric and Robin what had happened in the cave they adviced him to stay until he felt better.
Currently, he was leaned up against the wall of the house, watching as Robin tended to the Griffins.
"Are you alright Sean?" Eric asked, walking up to him
"Yeah...I'm fine" Sean muttered. "Its...Just a lot to take in..."
"I would be surprised if it wasn't" Eric chuckled, Sean giving a small smile
"Your worried about your friends? Aren't you?" Eric asked.
"Of course i am" Sean sighed.
"I've sent a message to King Felix but it could take a few days before they get it" Eric told him.
Sean looked at the ground "What did you tell them?"
"That you were safe with us. That you've healed from your wounds and you'll be heading for the dragon ruins soon" Eric told him.
"You didn't say-"
"I figured you'd want to say that part to them yourself" Eric told him. Sean just nodded as he began hugging himself.
Sean then felt something touch the back of his head. He jumped in fright and turned, seeing a Griffin with mostly gray feathers and golden lion fur.
"Oh...Hi" Sean said.
Eric chuckled. "Look's like Atlas likes you"
"Atlas?" Sean smiled.
"That's him!" Eric smiled.
Atlas leaned down and rubbed his beak lightly against Sean's cheek. Sean rubbing his head.
"But i thought Griffin's didn't like dragons" Sean questioned.
"Ah..Well you see. Atlas here is special. He's blind so he cannot see and relies on sensing magic. He's also very accepting, a lot more wiser and older than our other Griffin's. Robin and i believe he lived in the age of the dragons. So perhaps your dragon magic reminds him of it" Eric explained.
Sean smiled and stroked Atlas's head.
"Is there anything i can help with?" Sean asked.
"You can feed Atlas if you want. Afterwards, I'll get us some food. Then I'll show you where to go for the dragon ruins" Eric smiled.
Sean smiled back. Eric lead him and Atlas to the Stables, where Robin was feeding the other Griffins.
Some of them gave Sean odd looks, others let out a growl. Atlas seemed to growl back at them in a protective way to Sean. The younger griffins seemed to back down.
Eric handed Sean a peace of raw meat. "Just stick your hand out and he'll come to you"
Sean did so and Atlas seemed to catch the smell of the meat. He walked over to Sean, wings widening a bit before he happily took the food and began eatting.
"That was really good Sean" Eric smiled.
A cry from the group Robin was dealing with caught their attention
Two Griffin's were fighting and Robin couldn't seem to stop them
Eric walked up to Robin. "Let me deal with them. You and Sean grab something to eat and get him supplies"
Robin nodded and told Sean to follow him.
"Will he be ok?" Sean asked.
"Yup. Every lion pride has a leader. Its the same with griffins. Eric is theres" Robin smiled
Robin took Sean back to the little house and brought Sean over a cooked fish and a slice of bread.
"Enjoy" Robin smiled.
After their meal, Robin brought Sean over a leather bag filled with food, drinks, a map, fresh clothes and a dagger
"Stuff you'll might need for heading to the dragon ruins." Robin said.
"Your not coming?" Sean asked.
"We can't" Sean turned to see Eric walk in "After the war, only dragons could enter. No one was able to explore it fully. Everyone assumed the dragons were hiding something"
"What would they hid?" Sean asked
"If they did, we dont know" Robin told him. Opening the map, he showed Sean a mountain range. "From research, people have depicted that the ruins are somewhere here. Its about a 4 day jorney to there from here. You can see the hills from here"
Sean nodded.
"We would give you a griffin to ride but-"
"They dont like me"
"Sorry" Robin smiled and Chuckled apologeticly.
"And the only one that does, doesnt fly long distances anymore" Eric smirked.
"It's fine. Im sure I'll be ok walking" Sean smiled.
"Maybe you could change into your dragon self?" Robin suggested.
"Uh...I can't. I don't have control over it. That time was my first time" Sean replied, looking at the ground.
"Oh...Well I'm sure we could give you a horse" Robin smiled and looked at Eric, who nodded.
"Thank you" Sean smiled.
Eric walked over as Robin gave Sean the map. "At the ruins, there could be something to help you in controling your dragon magic"
"You think so?" Sean asked.
"Its possible" Robin smiled
They led Sean out and Robin brought over a black mare. "This is Onyx. She's a fast horse and should help you"
Sean had ridden a couple of horses in his life time. So he hoped that the few times helped him here.
Sean climbed on and smiled at Robin and Eric.
"Thank you. For helping me" Sean smiled.
Eric and Robin smiled back.
"Your welcome. Good luck" Eric smiled. "My message to King Felix should find him soon. Your friends will hopefully meet with you. If not, I've circled his kingdom. It's a far journey but if you find yourself in need we'll be here and im sure King Felix will welcome you back"
Sean smiled. "Thanks again. Bye."
"Bye! Wish you well!!" Robin waved.
Sean then headed off in the way of the mountain.
