Chapter 7

Lissa's POV

I don't recall a lot of what happened yesterday.  I might have gotten wasted when I got back last night.  Luke and his girlfriend are the ugliest couple I've ever seen.  I will give Luke credit for the lip ring thought, it's really hot.  I get up and check my phone which is on my kitchen counter.  2 unread messages.

Alissa, after your unprofessional behavior last night you're fired.  Good luck with your job search.

Lissa, it's Charlotte sorry I'm texting from Luke's phone giving you false hope.  Anyway I forgive you for last night.  See ya around.

I fucking hate her.  Well actually I hate them both.  Now I'm broke.  My bank account literally has like $450 left.  That's one months rent.  Ugh!  I hear a knock at my door.  I open my door and Ash is standing there flashing a bright grin.

"What's up Ash?"  I say in a scratchy morning voice.

"How would you like to come to the beach with us?"

"Sure why not.  I'll be down in ten."  I throw on a bikini and some shorts.  I throw my phone, sunglasses, wallet, and keys into a bag and head downstairs.  I walk out to Ashtons car and see Luke and Charlotte making out in Luke's car.  They pull apart and Luke shoots me a wink and I can see that Charlotte's a very good makeup artist because her bruise is almost invisible.  I hate Luke's cocky new attitude.  I get into Ash's car and sit shotgun with Mikey and Cal in the back.  Ashton has a Jeep so the sides and top are open.  We pull out of the parking lot and begin to drive to the beach.  I haven't been to the actual beach in weeks.  Luke and Charlotte speed behind us and I watch as Charlotte kisses Luke's neck as they drive.  I climb to the backseat and sit next to Calum.  I run my fingers up and down his torso.  He places light kisses on my face and jawline.  He knows that we will never be more than friends.  We reach the beach and Michael pulls Calum and I apart.

"Let's go guys!"  Ashton yells from the beach.  He has a surfboard which is totally stereotypical of an Aussie.  He takes off his shirt and starts paddling out.  Luke and Charlotte are over on a bench making out.  I see Michael walking over to a shaved ice vendor.  I walk over to Calum who is sitting on a towel next to all of our beach stuff.

"How have you been?"

"Since our date and you sleeping with Luke?  Fine.  My feelings for you were never anything deep."  Calum wraps his arm around my waist and I scoot closer to him.  He places a kiss on my neck and then stands up dragging me with him.

"Let's go for a walk."  Calum takes my hand in his and we begin to walk down the beach.  "What's up?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Between you and Luke.  There's like a competition between the two of you to see who can get the most action.  Luke was never like this before he met you.  Shit Luke couldn't even get a girl before you."

"I don't know what you're talking about.  Luke made his own decisions.  I had nothing to do with those."

"Lissa I'm not stupid.  Luke is changing because of you and none of us guys like it.  He's turning into a douche.  Also, Charlotte is just a cover up for you.  She's a bitch."

"She is.  Why is he doing this to himself."

"Oh I don't know.  Maybe he's trying to make you jealous?"

"Haha you're funny Cal.  I don't like Luke and Luke doesn't like me so..."

"Bullshit."  Calum mumbles this under his breath but I catch it.  Suddenly someone taps Calum's shoulder.
