"You're joking, Nel." Billy scoffed as he fumbled around his jean pocket for another cigarette. Rolling my eyes, I stood up straight from leaning against the car and walked towards Billy.

"Listen," I began before he grabbed my arm and tugged me to the side of his car; Steve and Nancy gave a glance before resuming conversation about reinforcing Steve's bat.

"No," he cut me off. "You listen." Billy gave a quick glance to make sure no one was looking before shifting his gaze back to mine; his baby blue eyes practically glistening like a lake in the moonlight. "I think you're cute, alright? And, yeah, I'm crushing." He flashed a smile before his face warped back to seriousness. "But you're bat-shit crazy if you think we're getting involved in this." He moved the cigarette to the other side of his mouth with a flick of the lips. "I'm taking you home and then we will never speak of what happened after the movies again. Just pretend it didn't happen." His grip on my arm softened as he began to softly stroke the soft leather of his jack draped over my shoulders.

I stiffened my arm and shrugged off his hand. His words were a buzzkill.

"Billy, there are more of them." I stared him deep in the eye. "We can't just 'forget' about this. If anything, they need more help." The words left my mouth with compassion as I glanced at my little brother playing with his friends, almost as if nothing just happened. I looked back at Billy to see that my statement began to conflict with his inner feelings. His brows furrowed with concentration as he shook his head a few times, almost as if to physically shake my thoughts from his head. He chucked the cigarette to the ground as his mouth began to open.

"Alright." His eyes squinted as he looked from the dead cigarette butt on the ground back in my direction; his focus consistently shifting between my eyes and lips. "Only because I think you're something else." He grinned wide as he took a few steps back. "And, you're pretty hot when you get all feisty." Billy's shoulder slowly brushed against mine as he walked past his Camaro and towards the group of high schoolers and middle schoolers.

"Looks like I'm in this too." Billy turned his head to face Steve's. "We get to spend more time together."

"Really?" Steve scoffed at me as he raised his hands in the air.

"Stop it!" Dustin's friend, Eleven, hopped off of the back of trunk and stormed towards the two territorial males. "If you two want to help, let's meet tomorrow after school. I'll tell you guys how we can stop these things and save Will."

The group nodded in agreement as we all gave each other looks of reassurance as the time had come to drive home into the darkness of Hawkins.

Billy and I watched as Nancy and Mike closed the doors of the car and began to drive forward. Billy started the car but hesitated to drive. Noticing that Nancy's car was trailing off, my head quickly whipped to face that of his; a feeling of nervousness shot through my body as I feared we wouldn't be able to catch up with their car.

"You okay?" concerned, I stared at his lips to await a response. His chin turned and met the level of mine. His smile grew wide as his hand left the cold leather of the steering wheel and met my warm cheek. His fingers traced the outline of my chin, making each hair on my face quickly stand up. Billy gently pulled my face towards his as our lips met in the cold car; heat poured from our lips as they interlocked.

"With you next to me? Obviously." He traced my cheek once more before gripping the wheel once more. His other hand seductively wrapped itself around the shift knob as he thrust the car in drive, pelting us forward from 0-45MPH. I quickly held on to the door handle as I felt my body plunge forward. I quickly glanced at Billy, as he belted out a loud laugh and focused forward. A small smile crept from my mouth as I felt a short second of relief hit my lungs and exhale a few moments of happiness. His finger suddenly flicked the radio on as Queen suddenly blared from the rigged four radios he had set up behind each seat.
