Chapter 4

After getting our weapons, we tried to fill Roxanne in on what we plan to do next. She wasn't as supportive as we thought. "Using her as bait? She's just an innocent girl!"

"Amaris is hardly a girl have you seen her chest?" I said leaning back into the large black chair. "Besides, the plan is already set in motion. Amaris pretty much let the world know where she is going tonight."

                "How?"

"That place people go to to write about their lives every five seconds. The bird noise."

"What the hell is that?" roxanne asked, her face contorted into confusion. "Twitter." Ekon answered, surprising us all. He just shrugged like it was a normal situation as we stared at him. "Anyway," Roxanne said, drawing the attention back to her. "You two are going to this club with Amaris and plan to wiggle her in front of the kidnappers so you can suddenly grab them and go?"

I shut my eyes and leaned my head back. "Must we tell you word for word what we plan to do?" I heard Roxanne huff angrily. "It'd be nice since I am the closest thing to your boss." My eyes snap shut and I looked hard in her direction. "You are not my boss. I have no boss." Ekon snickered beside me. "Now look what you did, you put him in a bad mood." I shifted in my seat to get more comforable and snorted. "I've been in a bad mood since I got here. Now Roxanne, unless you have something useful to tell us, we really should go."

"Just don't die. The last thing I need is someone to die on my watch. What the hell am I supposed to say to my boss if you kill someone innocent? What if I lose my job?"

I can't take this anymore. I stood up, walked over to her, and got as close as I possibly could without physically touching her. She looked up at me, a dangerously curious look in her eyes. She tried to look brave but it was faltering, I could see the beads of sweat form on her clear forehead. "I'm sure you'll find something that will suit your needs. We all know how badly you need them met."

She looked away angrily, she knew what I was doing. "Quit teasing me. I'm not a teenage girl you can just... just..."

"Play with?" Ekon quipped, clearly enjoying himself. "We really should get going. I'm thinking we should stop by the mall first to speak to Amaris. And any possible outfit for ourselves. As much as I know you love the color black, this club probably needs something with more color."

"Black is a color. Don't discriminate." I responded turning my head to face him. I turned back and smirked at Roxanne. "It was nice to see you again Roxanne."

"Screw you." She said bitterly. I held a hand over my chest and pretended to be heartbroken. "Ouch. Come on Ekon, we better go before she starts to say some more hurtful things. You know how sensitive I can get."

As we were leaving the room I looked back at Roxanne. She should know better than to let emotions fill a void when it comes to personal things in life. To life in general really. I turned back around and before I knew it we were back in the car and parked by the mall. "Why are we here again?" Ekon asked getting out the car and slamming the door behind him. "We came to get Amaris. We need her assistance."
