Chapter 5

"Is everything okay?" Amaris asked purposefully avoiding Ekon's presence. His aura was gone but his scent lingered. He was here, I just know it.

Amaris's hand came close to my shoulder and I reacted by grabbing her hand and holding it aganist her chest while I held onto her back. She shrieked in surprise and probably pain but I gripped tighter, my breathing heavy. "I could have killed you." I muttered. I needed to calm down. He wasn't here. I didn't need to be in this mode. When she didn't respond I released her and backed up. She was still startled and remained in place. "But I won't."

Deila and Dylan appeared, cutting away the somber feel in the air. "Okay so, Dylan will take over Ekon's outfit and I'll take over Alex." Deila was beaming. Amaris forced a smile and stood a bit straughter. "Sounds great, let's get started," Before Ekon grudingedly walked with Dylan, he looked at me with a questionably confused expression. Either though I knew he wouldn't be able to understand, I telepathically sent, Be on your guard. He would protect himself well. Deila clapped her hands together bringing the attention back to herself. "Okay! The colors areblue and white. So we are going to combine the two. You'll have a white suit with a baby blue tie." She exlcaimed. I rolled my eyes.

    "Oh brother."

Amaris smirked and handed me a few plain white t-shirts. "I think that's a bit much Deila." Her voice was strong but she shook slightly. If she knew his reasons she would understand but not even she, could handle it.

"I think It'd be best to have him wear a plain white dress shirt, a blue flower in the chest pocket, and black pants for a hint of rebellion." Amaris looked at me for a reaction. My concious was very aware my need to apologize. When was the last time I actually did that? Ah, I know how to fix this.

I shrugged. "I could always go naked. That's a different way to be rebellious. Comfy too." Amaris snickered while Deila blushed. There, I'm forgiven.

By the time we got the clothes it was already night fall and the opening of the club was in a few short minutes. Ekon, Amaris, and myself waited in line with the rest of the mundanes. Thankfully, because of Amaris's reputation and Ekon's general intimidation we got ahead of the line. Amaris fidgeted in her white dress, her large chest seconds away from spilling over. I am not going to lie and saw the image did not excite me at all. "Okay, run everything by me again." Amaris stuttered. The air was warm, but because of the 'ice' that surronded the building AMaris's breath came out as foggy smoke. "Ekon is your date. You are to remain by his side unless either of us tell you otherwise. I'll be scooping the area for anything suspicious. If you see a man with writings in a different language on his body, you run." She gave herself rapid deep breathes before nodding.

Ekon groaned beside her. "Are you sure you can't be her date instead?" Amaris (shockingly) hit him in the arm. "I'm going to be the best date you ever had buddy." Unaffected by the assult Ekon sucked his teeth. "Unless you're Scarlett Johansen I beg to differ." He responded. I rolled my eyes and looked at the bouncer that was now in front of us.

   "Names?" He grunted roughly.

"Alex, Amaris and Ekon. I'm the wingman." Kal grinned at that man politely.

He stared each of them down and moved out the way. "Ya'll can go." Amaris blew a kiss in his direction as she clung onto Ekon's arm. I could tell Ekon was trying his hardest not to pull away. He hasn't had physical contact with a female in a long, long time. Too long.
