Chapter 8

"You have got to be shitting me." Ekon leaned aganist the hallway and puffed out his chest, holding onto a breath. "The same girl you met at the club, you had a dream about her, and suddenly she's one of the people that we need to go after? You really do a piss poor job at finding women." He chuckled and I even cracked a smile. I just pursued women and often get them, I don't look too much into there crazy lifestyles.

"I guess it happens when you decide that your type of women is woman." I pulled out Alisa's file and handed it to Ekon. He opened it and whistled. "She's definitely attractive. I don't think I've seen a woman look like this before."

"I'm sure someone has," I said softly. "But anyway, are you going to help me track her down? I'm assuming since it was so carefree and easy to find her the first time when I wasn't trying to find her it will be even more difficult to actually start looking for her."

"Of course I will. I'll head out and ask around. Can I use the picture?" I nodded and he stuffed the file in his coat pocket. "You should stay here and take a nap."

"Really? A nap is hardly what I need right now. But thanks for caring about me babe."

"No smartass," Ekon hissed annoyed. "You saw her in your dream so maybe if you try sleeping again, you'll see her again. See what I'm getting at?"

"I get it. But I don't like it."

   "Why don't you like?"

"You telling me what to do," I shrugged and smirked. "But don't give me that look, I'm being a good person and obeying your wishes aren't you proud?"

"Just hurry up and sleep before I make you sleep." He growled.

I laughed at his back as he turned the corner. Silly Ekon, after all these years did he honestly think I was going to do what he asked me to do?

  Fat chance.

I quickly pulled out the my cell phone out of my pocket and clicked Amaris's number. She responded after the first ring. "Hello?"

"What are you doing right now?" I asked not bothering with a proper greeting.

"At the moment I'm looking at myself in the mirror wondering what on earth I will do when I start getting wrinkles. Think I can act with a bag over my head?"

"I'm sure people will love you a whole lot better." I smirked.

   "Piss off." She hissed.

"Gladly, but first, I want you to ask around for a name for me. I figure since you know the majority of the people in the town you may know this one. Have you heard of an Alisa Martin?"

"Alisa Martin?" I never thought Amaris' voice could get any higher but she obviously proved me wrong. "Of course I know Alisa Martin. She wasn't an actor but she always appears where the actors are. She's like a Paris Hilton without the rich father. She was always stealing the spotlight from me like this one time in--"

"I'm sure this will be a heart warming connection between the two of us and I'll suddenly consider you as someone other than my current case but I have no time for that. When was the last time you saw her?"

"I don't know Kal. She pops up and I don't like her. Why?"

"Don't worry about it. You've been literally no help at all." I clicked end and shoved the phone back in my pocket. I have better luck just going to sleep.
