"It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness."-Eleanor Roosevelt
Chapter 6
I somehow glinded along the shallow waters, my feet occasionally stepping into a muddy hole. I couldn't stop. I wouldn't stop. Not when she was calling me to come closer. When I looked down to see the watery abyss below me, there was nothing there. I could feel it but it couldn't be seen. Why? Even if I wanted to take a second to pause, this is the first time in a long time that I haven't dreamt of blood and gore and death. I should be a good little boy and enjoy my trip to the lake. I edged on, towards the voice that was calling my name. Maybe it's a hot goddess from the past or maybe just a mirage. Who knows. Who cares. I stopped once I hit a barrier of some kind and carefully, I placed my palm on the wall. Searching for a way through. "Kal.... almost there..." The closer I got the more the voice sounded so familar. A beam of light suddenly enhanced and I looked away, grimacing. When the light faded I looked back and the woman from the bar stood in front of me smiling. The water was still and yet I still felt my body move with the motions. "Couldn't get enough of me so you had to find your way into my dream too?"
She smiled more, which I didn't think was possible, and didn't show any teeth. "I've been waiting for you."
"I gathered that. Why do you need me so badly?" Since this is my dream and one of the few good ones I have, I know how to control them on command. But I felt like my mind and body was utlimately focused on her being. I couldn't have willed an elephant even if I wanted to. "You tell me this is your dream."
"That's true." I nodded. The setting needs to change. Something a little more casual. I lifted my hand to snap my fingers and automatically my eyes shut. When they opened I heard a soft snorting noise. "Is this a bedroom?"
I looked at the familar furniture that I've been seeing for the past couple of years. "It's mine. I was thinking comforable and that water idea was getting old."
"Ever think of what it means?"
"What the water? I've had that only a couple times. It probably means I have to use the little boys room. Nothing to figure out."
She sat down on my armchair and crossed her legs. Again she was wearing the same dress that I last saw her in except instead of seductive and alluring this dress was elegant and slightly tattered. Her hair was in wild curls down her back and her skin, that was probably as smooth as it looked, was practically glowing. Conversation with her was slowly becoming the least fun thing on my mind. "You sure about that? Water is supposed to be a stress you have that you wish washed away. Or a problem that you want to fade into the tide. You honestly think there is nothing wrong with that?"
"You sure do have a lot of questions for a woman looking like the way you do in my bedroom in my dream. If it were up to me..." I stopped myself. Hopefully she got the hint. She must have since she smirked and made her way to me. She placed her soft hand on my chest and I fell onto my bed. Her hair casted over her shoulders and I used two fingers to push it past her ears. As cliche as this is going to sound, I couldn't help but notice how extremely beautiful this girl was. She looked innocent but deadly seductive at the same time. Since it's my dream, I guess it wouldn't matter the things I say now. "You are so beautiful."
She was thrown off gaurd for a split second and then leaned closer to my ear. "You're just saying that to make me feel good."
"Is it working?"
