Now, originally Shoto would've stayed out of it, but curiosity got the best of him. Yes he knows, "curiosity killed the cat" but then again, "satisfaction brought it back".
Shoto had been simply lying in his own given room at the clinic, the League was staying at, when he heard it. Its sounded like muffled crying and muttering. He could only assume it was Izuku, as he was the closest to the half-n-half male. The others were much farther away.
But he'd never heard or he seen the male cry, so it didn't add up, in his case. So he thought to stay out of it, but that was before the whimpering, almost as if he was in pain, sounded. So curiosity, -and unknown worry- got the best of him.
Shoto made his way over to Izuku's room -which was across the hall from his own-, quietly, assuming everyone was asleep. The only reason he was up, was the fact he couldn't sleep.
Going to knock, the hybrid male came to a stop, his fist still in the air. He stared at the door, which was slightly ajar, something that was definitely rare. Did Izuku not pay attention when he was closing it? Maybe he was far too tired and thought he heard the door shut?
Whatever the reason, this was all very much convenient for the curious male.
Shoto slowly pushed the door open, the old rusty hinges creaking with the movement. Peeking his head around the door, the male's eyebrows furrowed as he caught sight of a black outline on the cot in the room. He only assumed it was Izuku, as he thrashed about, quiet tear-filled whimpers reaching his ears.
Shoto slowly entered, closing the door behind him, causing it to darken even more. He rose his palm, lighting a small flame in his hand, giving him light. The flames licked his hand, as the shadows danced along the walls.
He tilted his head as he approached the cot, the light giving view of the person lying on it. Izuku lay there, the old tattered blankets resting on the end of the cot.
The green haired male's usually stoic and hidden face, was now scrunched up with emotions Shoto had not expected.
Fear, anger, sadness.
Shoto's eyebrows furrowed as yet another whimper of fear left the sleeping male's lips, as tears ran down his already wet cheeks.
Shoto didn't know what to do, and debated on waking him up. It was obvious he was having a horrible nightmare, and it'd probably be the best idea. But then again, what would the male's reaction be? Shoto kind of felt like living a little longer.
The half-n-half male debated in his head, before finally coming to a conclusion.
A lower temperature originally causes the person to wake up, as that's how your body and mind tend to react. Plus Shoto wouldn't risk instant death, right?
Shoto backed away from the cot, the flames slowly dying in his hand as his back hits the door. The flame flicked to nothing as the room's temperature began to drop.
Shoto watched as Izuku began to thrash even more, his whimpering slowly dying. Shoto's lips formed a thin line as Izuku sat up, panting. The half-n-half male lit a flame in his palm, yet again, as the room's temperature returned to it's original condition.
Izuku's green eyes narrowed as he caught sight of Shoto, the flames on his palm illuminating half the room.
"You were having a nightmare." Shoto casually stated, before Izuku could snap at him about being in his room.
"I heard you crying from my room, and found you having a nightmare." He explained further, as Izuku blinked, slowly letting his words sink in.
Izuku looked down, mumbling something under his breath in frustration, Shoto continuing to stand quietly with his hand aflame. The half-n-half male was confused, but he chose to stay quiet, sensing the greenette's frustration in the situation.
"Was that all you heard?" The greenette interrogated, Shoto looking confused. What else was there to hear?
"Yes." The half-n-half male answered honestly, with a single nod. It was quiet as Izuku seemed to be internally arguing with himself.
"Was it about, him, Hisashi?" Izuku's head snapped to look at Shoto. Though the male had no idea who Hisashi was, it was obvious it was someone who Izuku was not fond of.
Izuku stared intently at the male in front of him, shadows dancing across his face as he stayed silent. His eyes never flashed the dangerous red they normally would, instead they stayed his dull forest green, but his intense gaze never wavered.
Shoto returned his gaze, his face blank and his lips formed in a thin line. Maybe he shouldn't have said anything. But sometimes he tends to blurt things out when curious.
"You're quite observant." Shoto blinked as Izuku stood, rolling his shoulders, gaining a few satisfying pops.
The greenette looked back at Shoto, blankly, confusing and surprising the hybrid. He simply ran a hand through his hair, grabbing his mask and hoodie, which were carelessly thrown over a few random boxes beside the cot.
Shoto watched his movements, -just now realizing the male was only in a pair of jeans and a lose, black U-necked shirt. This gave clear view of his scars, littering his arms, a few on his collarbone and neck. -As well as a clear view of his toned arms, but Shoto told himself he wasn't looking at that-.
Izuku slipped the thin gray hoodie over his head, grabbing his mask and stuffing it into the pocket. He looked back at Shoto, who was already looking at him.
The greenette made his way over to the male, who stood in front of the door, his green eyes trailing to the flame in his hand.
Izuku didn't know why he wasn't angry at the male, he should be after the question, however he was surprisingly calm, despite the mention of his abusive -now dead- father.
The taller of the two looked down at the other in confusion, as Izuku now stood in front of Shoto. He was certainly getting tired of the continuous emotion.
Izuku's face was blank as he met his gaze, "you're blocking the door." Shoto blinked, before side stepping, the flame in his hand slowly dying as Izuku pulled the door open.
Just as he was about to walk out, feeling Shoto's gaze on him, he froze. He hesitantly looked back over his shoulder, his lips in a straight line.
"If..." Izuku sighed, "if you can't sleep, you can, join me?" He offered, though it came out more like a question. He didn't know why he offered in the first place, but he did and there was no backing down with the unexpected offer.
Izuku hovered in the doorway a little longer, before entering the hall, making his way to the stairway leading to the roof. Shoto stayed put in his spot a little longer, before following.
He couldn't sleep anyways.
