Flying underwater is a really strange thing.

When trying to get over water quickly- but unseen- you should always try to fly underwater. It sounds strange, but is actually quite simple- it's just normal flying, but with the resistance of the water around you. As long as you keep your hands over your head, like you're diving, it's a pretty easy feat.

Flying underwater was pretty much the only way to get to the ship that had just arrived. When I reached it, i put my back to the wall and flew up so I could just hear them talking.

I was on the wall of the very back of the ship. No one was looking in my direction.

I could hear them arguing- it was pretty bad, too. The tension was so thick I could cut it with a knife.

Peeking over the side, I saw three women and two men- one of them I recognized as the pirate I'd fought in my first few days here.

One of the woman- the only blond- went down to the bunks under the ship. The pirate followed a few minutes after.

Peering into a small window, I saw her and the pirate drinking. Classy.

Suddenly, the ship was rocking- violently.

The two ran upstairs. I flew down, under the water, to see what was attacking.

Crap. Mermaids.

They were swimming at the ship quickly and hitting it with their tails. I tried to fly back up, but they caught me.

One of them grabbed my arm as I tried to swim back up, out of the water. I twisted around and tried to pull my arm out of her grip, but more came. Their hands were grabbing me from all sides, dragging me down. I kept writhing and kicking, the oxygen leaving my body. The surface of the water was slowly getting further and further away.

I reached for my sword, but remembered that it was gone- I'd left it at the camp. I opened my mouth, trying to call out with my last breaths.

"Help!" I tried to call, but nothing came out and no one could hear me. My eyesight was getting fuzzy, and black spots were popping up around the edges.

I tried again. "Help!"

Nothing. Hands were all over me, when suddenly they weren't. All I could see was a bright flash of orange on the surface of the water- it was so far away-

"Peter!" I called, but there was nothing, and everything went black.
