When we landed on the cove, the sand glowed as it always does when he or I touch it. We landed and I smelled all the farmiliar smells I knew and loved.
He held my hand tight even after we landed. I closed my eyes and soaked it in- the feeling of home.
It was a strange feeling. I'd never felt something like this.
"I suppose you don't know where your true home is until you truly miss it."
The words left my mouth and lingered in the air. He started walking, with my hand in his.
"Come on," he said, smiling. "Your family is waiting."

When I got back to camp, Felix saw us first. He smiled before turning away and continued sharpening whatever was in his hand.
Then another boy saw me- I think his name is Thomas?- and shouted.
"Tiger Lily's back!" he shouted.
Before I knew it, I was swept up in the arms of all the lost boys. They put me on their shoulders and cheered.
"Boys, I think you know what this means!" Peter shouted, standing on a tree stump. "I believe this calls for a celebration!"
The cheered again and put me back down. Within minutes they had gathered enough wood to build a bonfire and enough sticks for each boy to have two for dancing. Some of them wore masks over their faces.
I smiled wider and watched them dance. Pan walked up behind me.
"Tiger Lily, we couldn't be happier that you're-"
I turned around and kissed him.

The longer I was on the island, the less i felt the need to sleep. I would practice fighting with Peter when I was awake.
He noticed, too. "The closer you get to the island, the less you sleep," he told me once. "Felix doesn't sleep at all, just like me. He sets up a bed as though he is going to, but goes off hunting when all the boys are asleep."
I smilled. Felix was always a little strange.
"So, shall we begin again?"
I nodded and we stood up. He tossed me the wooden sword and we began.
When we fought now, he never had to tell me what to do. I tried a few swings, and he blocked them all. He tried a few, and I blocked those. He swung towards my head, but i saw it coming and ducked, swinging by his stomach. He jumped backwards and blocked my next move, but i had gotten him into a defensive rather than offensive. I swung again and he blocked, but he stepped back. I did it again, and again, and one final time before he swung back. Another swing at my head and I ducked. As I did, i kicked at his legs so he fell over. As he fell, I swung at his wrist and his sword flew out of his hand. I put the point of my sword right at his neck.
His gaze traveled up my sword and up my arm until he was staring right into my eyes.
"It looks like you've won, Tiger Lily," he whispered.
I bit my bottom lip to try to stop from smiling, but i couldn't help it.
"You remember the promise, right Tiger Lily?" he smirked.
I tilted my head in confusion.
"You have my permission to leave this island- for good," he said.
I didn't even think about it for a second before helping him up. "Oh, as if."
And he was kissing me.
I put my hands on his neck and he put his on my waist. Our eyes were closed and the moment was ours and-
"Pan."
Felix's monotone but firm voice cut into the moment. We split quickly, but we knew he saw. My face turned bright red and i looked at my feet.
"There's something I think you'll be very happy to see," he said, pretending that he hadn't seen us.
Peter looked back at me and smiled. "I'll be back in a moment, Tiger."
He and Felix walked down the path and I walked back to the beds and lay down on mine, staring at the night sky- or twilight sky, I suppose.
I was staring for a long time- it could have been just minutes, or maybe an hour- but the boys weren't awake yet until suddenly I heard a whistle- Peter's whistle, one that woke all the boys.
I stood and caught his eye while everyone else got ready for the day. He called me over.
"Today is a very special day, Tiger," he said quietly.
"How come?"
He didn't answer, just smirked at me.
"Boys, I want you to look extra-special today," he joked. "We're expecting some guests later."
