Megan
I'm sure I was breaking all of our kinds rules about speaking about the dead. I was in tears and just doing the best I could to get through this as fast as I could. Being wrapped in Jason's strong arms the one thing that kept me sane in this moment. With another long breath I continued on "I had gone to my parents home for a dinner with them and my siblings." Pausing a moment then letting it all out I said. "I was a triplet. So their deaths were tougher than that of a normal brother and sister. I had gone to their house to celebrate my parents anniversary. It wasn't just the household in attendance that night. They came in full force while we were dancing in the barn outback that had been cleared and renovated recently. Made a beautifully romantic setting. We weren't prepared. They had us all gassed and unable to fight back within under a minute. We all woke with restraints on. A man with dark hair and blue eyes stood in front of my father with a family photo he had found on a shelf. He divided the people but had our family front and center." Sobbing I continued on as jason held me in his lap now. "The man said we would all die but my father could save one child. I volunteered to die immediately. The man looked at my father and my father said my name. I screamed for him to pick my brother Mike as he was in line to be Beta next. We all had tape put immediately on our mouths. We gave looks to one another trying to convey our last thoughts and feelings. Nothing more could be said.
He didn't kill them though. He turned us all around to face the others split on both sides of the room. He walked to those on the smaller group on our left side and said "You all get to pick one life to spare from the other side of the room. This is going to go very quickly. You have 10 secs once I ask you or you'll save no one." Thomas the Beta you met, his life was saved by his mate. That's how it went for many." I paused and caught my breath. Able to look at him now I finished still in tears as I remembered it all so clearly. "They took all of us that were to be spared outside. As we heard one gunshot at a time we all shook and jumped. We felt each one not knowing who's life had ended. When we thought they'd all stopped he brought my father out who was struggling to try and break free of his restraints. He looked wild and crazy like he had tried to shift but found he couldn't. He was thrown to the ground and I was dragged in front of him. I looked him straight in the eyes trying to be as brave as I could for him. His eyes were filled with so much sorrow and love. Then they went dull as they shot him in the back of the head. Splattered in blood I tried to scream but couldn't and eventually I passed out." He hugged me and kissed my forehead. "So yes, I'm glad he suffered!" I said finally. "His mate should also die!" I said it as coldly as I possibly could. He let me go just enough to look at me and say. "Should you die for my actions?"
His words reminded me of my next question. "What is your plan for her?"
Jason
I knew I must answer her but I had hoped to put it off as long as possible as the thought made me sick. Both women depending on me sexually to live neither could just walk away. Death was something I decided wasn't an option for Lily when I saw her almost near death last week. I opened a flood gate inside her with my next words. This would effectively cause a rift for possibly our entire lives. "I've spoken to the Dr. after I realized I didn't want to sleep with her again. I was trying to find a solution where she didn't die. She's only here because of my choice, not hers." I took a deep breath. She looked into my eyes like she knew what I was about to say next. And she did "You'll mark her." I couldn't deny it so "It would stop her physical need to need for replenishing in order to live." I paused "except for on the harvest moon" She looked at me with such pain. I couldn't stand to see that look on her. So I got out of bed and found some basketball shorts and a tshirt and left the room after saying. "I'll sleep in my office tonight. Tomorrow I'll work out the details."
