"Aeria! Wait up!"

My head spun over my shoulder to see Hermione Granger charging in my direction from the other side of the building. Hermione looked the most excited I've ever seen her on the first day of school since our 1st year. That was until Harry and Ron came over to walk with her, and all of a sudden it's like I didn't exist. I gripped my books tightly and began picking up my speed. Breakfast starts in 2 minutes and I didn't want to be late.

On my way over to the Gryffindor table, an ear-piercing laugh from the Slytherin table caught my attention. I glanced over to see it was Draco Malfoy, more well known to me as my crush. He is the most attractive boy in Hogwarts. He has beautiful blonde hair that falls on his forehead, dazzling silver eyes, an elegant smile, what's not to like about him?

"Wringbell, what's with the googly eyes!?" Shouted Malfoy, causing all the Slytherins to burst into laughter. I caught myself standing and staring at him, I didn't even mean to! I just get distracted easily?

"Hey piss off  Malfoy!" Seamus Finnigan said in my defense.

Malfoy got up out of his seat and glared over to the Gryffindor table, "Ooh look at Finnigan defending his little girlfriend!"

"What an idiot." Seamus mumbled.

Seamus signaled me to come sit down, so I took the seat across from him.... maybe just so I can still see Malfoy.  I know I know, he is a total brute.. But he was just so attractive I couldn't help but stare!

"Hey, Thanks for sticking up for me." I said to Seamus.

'It's no problem." He began talking about his summer, but my mind drifted off,  All that was in my head was Malfoy. Stupid Malfoy. I probably don't actually like him, he has never given me a reason to. He was nothing but bitter to me, but he's just so handsome.

"10 points from Gryffindor!" Professor Snape howled as Harry Potter walked into class.

"Late on your first day Potter, I'm surprised." Snape said.

Malfoy and his squad snickered at Harry's foolishness. I can't believe Potter just lost us 10 points. Harry quickly took his seat, next to Hermione and Ron, of course.

"Welcome to Year 3 Potions." Snape said.

He continued talking about the rules of his class, it was all quite boring, but at least I was with my best friend, Seamus at the very back of the classroom, just like every year. Malfoy sat at the front, with Pansy Parkinson. It was rumored those two had a thing for each other. I'll admit if that's true, I'm a little jealous. Then again, what girl wouldn't be?

"Open your books to page 15."

The sound of everyone's textbooks flipping created a good amount of noise, good enough that I could talk to Seamus while Snape was distracted.

"I heard Year 4 potions is the hardest." I whispered

Seamus read a few words and his eyes widened. "Yeah no joke! Look at this."

I looked down into my book. The words looked like gibberish! My best subject has always been Potions, but it seemed like this year that was going to change.

"What is that all about?" Seamus asked me, pointing at the front of the classroom. It was Pansy flirty laughing with Malfoy. Ugh. She was starting to get on my nerves. He probably doesn't even like her!

"Apparently those two have a thing going on. Gross."

"Oh well that's good for them." He said.

"No Seamus it's not!!" I said, maybe a little too loud. The entire class looked back at us, even Snape.

"Is there a problem, Ms. Wringbell?" Snape asked.

I could feel my face get bright red, almost like a tomato or a strawberry. My hazel eyes were glued to my feet, I was so embarrassed. Way to go, Aeria. Now everyone was laughing at me.

"Well?" Snape asked.

Seamus spoke up. "Sorry Professor, I was bothering Aeria. It wasn't her fault."

"Let's have a word outside, Mr. Finnigan." Snape signaled his finger towards the door in an angry manor.

Seamus got up out of his seat and turned his head around towards me and let out a slight giggle. Seamus basically liked getting in trouble, he says "it spices of my life a little!" every time he's busted.

"Thank you." I mouthed as he walked off. He gave a slight smile and left the room.

He took the blame for me, but I didn't deserve that , I was bothered over nothing, and now Seamus will be in trouble for something he didn't do. Well, it was sort of something. Maybe Pansy shouldn't be flirting during class time! What did he even see in her? Sure, she was pretty. And smart, And prim and proper, like he was. Pansy just didn't fit the "girlfriend" role quite right.

I couldn't help but glance down at myself. It was the same uniform she was wearing, yet she made it different. She made it seem less... boring and basic.  Absently, I smoothed my long curls with my hands.. slutty Pansy and stupid Malfoy! I shouldn't let them get in my head.

"Aw poor Finnigan got in trouble defending his girlfriend." Malfoy said, followed by a malicious laugh.

"Oh shut up Malfoy!" I barked back at him.

He muttered something to Pansy, but I didn't quite catch it. It was the first day back at school and of course he had to tease us. I hate when he says that, Seamus and I are friends! Never more, never less.

After about five minutes passed, the door flung open and Seamus walked in, followed by Snape. I feel bad, but I was a little more concerned about our house points. It was like Snape enjoyed taking off points from Gryffindor as much as possible. He never disciplined the Slytherins as much as he did us. It isn't fair but I understood, after all he was a Slytherin himself.

"So, what is the punishment?" I eagerly asked Seamus.

"Detention for me. He said he wasn't going to deduct any points, which was a relief. But who knows what he was going to make me do in detention."

"I'm sorry Seamus. You didn't have to do that."

"It's okay, It was worth it." He said with a smile.
