A/N: And here I am, once again, giving you your double update. I am happy that I am getting this chapter out to you guys, so by all means I hope you really enjoy the chapter! Also I would just like to say that there is a small intimate scene in this chapter, but other than that nothing too serious.

"JARVIS, how long has it been?" Tony asked, staring into the vast space of his lab.

"It has been a minute since the last time you asked." His AI replied.

"Very funny, J."

"Why thank you, sir. I try." He rolled his eyes at his creations sass. Seriously, he doesn't remember ever programming JARVIS with this much sass before, but like creation like master, it wouldn't take long for the AI to pick up on his sass.

"If you are worried about Captain Rogers, I assure you he can take care of himself."

"But what if he gets hurt? I'm not there to make sure he doesn't get himself into trouble. He's a super soldier who doesn't like bullies, and nobody is a bigger bully than Hydra."

"Agent Romanoff and Agent Barton are there with him." JARVIS reassured. He knew that the spy twins would be there with him, of course, why wouldn't they? Fury was the one who assigned the mission. It still didn't take away the bundle of nerves that were trying to kick their way out of his stomach. He knew if worse came to worse, that they would make sure to look out for each other, but the fear of not knowing whether he was going to come back home or not scared him. Holy shit, this is what Pepper must've felt like. God, no wonder she preferred not to be in a relationship with him, the suspense of just sitting around waiting for someone you cared for to return home was detrimental on the mind, it was the greatest fear imaginable.

What exactly would he do if he never got to see Steve again? Well, for starters he'd go crazy. He'd blame himself for not being able to be there to make sure Steve was alright, was that a little clingy? Hell if he would know, it probably was, but can you really blame him? He would most definitely lock himself away from the outside world, doing whatever he could put his mind to in order to distract him. But he couldn't distract himself from that because Steve would always be on his mind, even after he's gone. Fuck he's digging a hole for himself the more he keeps thinking about this. Steve is fine, he has Natasha and Clint with him, nothing can go wrong.

"Sir," his AI's voice boomed around him, causing him to jump in response and break him out of his brewing.

"What?"

"Captain Rogers is trying to call you." And just like that, he fumbled around his desk littered with spare parts, searching for his phone, and laying it in front of him, accepting the call.

"Hey!" He said enthusiastically upon seeing Steve's face on the holographic screen portrayed from his Stark Phone.

"Hey, nice to see you. Thought you weren't going to pick up." Steve said, a bright smile on his face. He was dressed in his Captain America suit, and from what Tony could conclude from what he could see, he wasn't hurt.

"I would never miss a call from my favorite soldier, but what's up? Anything exciting happen?"

"So far, nothing interesting has happened. Just boring reconnaissance. If I'm lucky I'll be back at the tower before you know it." That little sentence made him jump for joy on the inside. On the outside, he was nothing but happy, if the smile that has yet to disappear off of his face was any indication.

"You know it feels like it's been so long since I last saw you."

"It's only been a few hours. Did you miss me that much?"
