A/N: As requested, epilogue!

In a superheroes life, when things start seeming abnormally normal, such as evil not turning up for quite awhile, or things just being generally too quiet, it becomes unnerving. It's not to say that a superhero can't be allowed to relax and enjoy themselves, but it's quite rare that times like this happen. For the Avengers, it's completely rare. For Tony, these moments spell nothing but trouble; because the whole situation he and Steve went through, as well as the other's, began simply as nothing but a normal day in their hectic lives.
And maybe it's weird that he's not fighting crime at the moment, or there's no one threatening him or his family, or his super soldier boyfriend, because it would just fall under the "normal" status quo of his superhero life. It's just too quiet for him, and it's just so unnatural. Even in his lab where he tinkers on a constant basis- whether he's upgrading the Iron Man suit or his team's suits, it's always loud in the lab. But that loudness is different from the loudness of a super villain threatening to take over the world, or destroy his precious tower.
Regardless, he needed something "new", in a way for him to do. Hell, he's even wanting some evil alien asshole to threaten to take over earth, or plan on wiping out half of all life on Earth, just something to disturb the quietness that is New York.
"Hey." A familiar voice calls out to him. He smiles to himself and stops what he's doing, turning around, and leaning against his workbench while he looks at the figure of his blonde boyfriend coming over to him.
"Hey yourself, big guy. What's up?" He asks.
"Just checking up on how my favorite person is doing." He replies, cheekily. Once he gets within close proximity of the genius, he doesn't hesitate to attach his soft lips to the geniuses own calloused ones, reveling in the way his lips move perfectly with his own. It was moments like this that both heroes looked forward to; whether it was after a hard day of fighting crime, or simply because they missed each other and wanted some alone time away from everyone else, moments where they got to kiss, hug, or cuddle one another were times they looked forward to.
"I also wanted to ask if you're free? There's something I want to show you." Steve said once he pulled back from the kiss. On the genius' own face, a smirk replaced the lazy smile he had just a few seconds ago.
"Hmm, I don't know," he started off, looking towards the ceiling as he continued to speak, "I'm pretty busy actually; I have upgrades I gotta work on, as well as get food and water, since a certain super soldier is always pestering me about that sort of thing. Then I have to go shower, and grab some coffee so I can get back to working on my upgrades-".
"Tony."
"I'm just kidding. I'm always free for you, what did you have in mind? Do I need to get dressed?" The soldier shook his head and dipped his head once more, stealing another sweet, chaste kiss from the brunette.
"What you're wearing now is fine, just follow me, but close your eyes." He said, already grabbing his hand and leading him towards the exit of his lab. He didn't really have much to say, so he just shrugged his shoulders and closed his eyes, trusting the super soldier to be his eyes while he's temporarily blind.
While he sees nothing but darkness, he can still hear everything around him. He hears the elevator ding, as well as the doors opening to let them inside. They ding once more as the doors close, and he can feel the little ounce of gravity elevators temporarily have when they move up or down. In this case, gravity is temporarily weighing him down, so he knows that they're heading towards the upper floor, where the common area is.
The doors open for the last time, and he's being pulled once more by the soldier out of the elevator. His feet press against the cool wooden flooring, which soon turns into marble titles and he knows, since he's the one who built this place alongside Pepper, that they're on the rooftop. He feels Steve let go of his hand, and so he patiently waits for his queue to open his eyes.
