Coming home from a hunt, he pushed open the door to a room decorated with bright yellow ducks. Looking up, he sees Reese’s back to him. She turns, cradling a bundle in her arms. A smile pulls on his lips, but turns to one of horror as he looks down at her feet, standing in a puddle of blood. His ears were filled with the sound of slurping and grunting. Grabbing hold of her shoulder and spinning her around, he let out a startled yell that left his throat at the sight of her chewing on a wad of flesh that hung from her mouth. Dropping the bundle from her arms. She let out a gurgled hiss as she made her way over to the archer. Blood-covered hands reached out to him. Eyes glazed over with no life.
He drops his bow. Tears pricked his eyes, allowing her to take handfuls of his jacket, reeling him in to bite his neck.

He sits up, startled awake, taking in the scene around him and exhaling a shaky breath. He rests a trembling hand over his eyes. He was on the couch in the living room. Where he had been sleeping for the past few months. Shaking the vivid images from his head. Getting dressed for another day of recruiting with Arron.“You leavin’ out.” A soft voice inquires.
He hasn’t even noticed her in the kitchen, preparing a cup of tea. She is rarely awake this early. Hearing her puke her guts out through the night, he figured she’d sleep until three in the afternoon. He opened his mouth to speak, only for his eyes to trail down to her unmistakably pregnant belly. Draped in a lint-infested sweater she had gotten from the chatty housewives of Alexandria. Along with a dozen others, she had grown fond of. Emotions taking a firm hold of his throat overwhelmed him to the point of closing his mouth and settling on saying nothing at all.
She drops her head along with her smile, expecting to finally have a conversation with more than two-word grunts. Another failed attempt at starting a conversation for the count. Knowing it was a stupid question, seeing as he was layering up for the cool autumn weather, He grunts with a nod, not even looking in her direction. That part always killed her. “W-well...” her voice cracks. “Damn it!” She scolded herself in a whisper as tears pricked her eyes. “...be safe.” She forces out quickly, turning away from him and occupying herself with the mug she had just been drinking from. It wasn’t like she was enjoying sugarless green leaf tea. Missing the bitter aftertaste of coffee. Slinging his crossbow over his shoulder, he left with only the slam of the front door as his goodbye.

“Reese’s due date should be coming up.” Aaron starts a conversation.Silence.
“Pretty exciting. It’s been a while since we had a baby in Alexandria.” He chuckled excitedly to himself. “A true Alexandrian.” He hums to himself.
Silence.
“Picked out any names?”
Realizing that the chatterbox wasn’t going to stop, the archer thought throwing him a bone would silence him for at least a moment.
