I crept through the dark hallways of the school, listening for any sounds of life. My eyes searched through the darkness for any clue that would help me find the object of my desperate search. Shadows lurked around me, and at every sound, even if it was as quiet as a breath, I started, and butterflies flew in my stomach.

A bead of sweat formed on my forehead from the intensity of the task. I was determined not to fail. Acheivement lured me forward, tasting like sweet chocolate ice cream melting on my tongue.

A scream pierced the silence right behind me, so I squashed myself up against a wall, not wanting to be found. I held my breath as I heard footsteps approaching. My heart felt as if it would jump right out of my chest.

"You're dead," a deep voice whispered from behind me, tickling my ear and making me jump and shiver in alarm. My heart plunged, and I took a deep breathe... And screamed.
