Dream leads me through an oak forest, following a faded pathway to a wooden boardwalk, plants lining the sides. We followed the boardwalk until we came across a gate, Dream opened it and walked through, I followed closely behind.
Two figures stood at the top of the hill, they stood wielding shields and swords. They looked quite terrifying, standing on a hill carrying weapons, ready to defend and attach. I took in their appearances, glancing over every detail, trying to find any form of mistrust.
The first man was quite easy to pinpoint. Goggles atop dark brown hair, what would seem childish turned not. A blue dress shirt with two white lines down the front, going all the way down the sleeves and ending in a slim white cuff, with a black turtleneck underneath, all the way down to his fingerless gloves. dark colored jeans and a pair brown shoes. Though a simple look, seemed very mature, he looked very put together, kind almost, not a sliver of mistrust around him.
The other was a little more complicated. Black hair with a blank, white bandana wrapped underneath the long strands, set against his forehead. A long, dark undershirt, a white short sleeve shirt overtop, with a small flame in the center. Black, ripped jeans, paired with checkered shoes. He had a bag clipped over his shoulder, stretched across his torso down to his waist, small but useful. He looked slightly off, unstable but still looked like he could be a nice, small bit of trust issues thrown in.
I shook myself from my thoughts, and crossed my arms over my chest protectively, and all though we were out in the sun, and it wasn't snowing, I still felt cold.
Me and Dream walked closer, and the duo at the top of the hill put away their swords, setting their shields down on the ground beside them. The one dressed in blue walked down and pulled Dream into a side hug. Pushing his shoulder slightly. He smiled.
He turned to me with a questionable expression. "Who did you find, Dream?" He said in an accent, smooth but slightly different from mine and Dreams. I stuck out my hand towards the man, and he placed his hand in mine.
"Vienna Blue, he saved me from a Pillager a while back.." a smile reached across my face, though I'm sure it didn't reach my eyes.
The man in blue nods and smiles, "I'm George, and that is Sapnap," he pointed to the man on the hill, who was now sitting, started cleaning his sword. "He doesn't talk much, but damn good with a blade."
I nod my head, and turn away from the two men beside me, looking up at Sapnap. As if he could sense I was staring at him, he looked up from his sword, and right into my eyes.
I quickly look away and back to Dream and George, but they are in a conversation, their backs turned to me, but I could see their hands moving back and forth over the land.
I felt weird just standing here, so I started to walk up the hill, and away from George's and Dreams conversation about a new building, a safe house I think, and to the stranger on the hill.
As I walk up, he turns his head to me, stopping cleaning his blade. I hold my hand out to him, but he doesn't return the favor. Instead he looks at my hand with a glare, then back up to me.
I smile awkwardly and remove my hand. "I'm Vienna." Sapnap stands and looks me in the eyes, he stands a good few inches above me so he has to look down. I notice a slit in his eyebrow, it suits him.
Dark brown eyes, like melted chocolate, but darker, stare into my dark blue. Molten chocolate meets a hurricane.
"I'm Sapnap, but I'm guessing George told you that." He shrugged and brushed off the dirt from his clothes, then picked up his shield and sword, then left to the many buildings in the distance. Not another word shared between us.
I watch as he leaves, but get sidetracked by the city in front of me, bamboo grows in every little corner, creating a jungle look, and vines melting into the walls that houses stood in, the boardwalk continues throughout the entire thing, connecting every house and building there is. I'm taken aback by the glory of it all, and I don't realize Dream and George coming up as well, they both stood on either side of me.
"This- this is all the city?" I ask, still looking at the place while the sun sets behind it all, creating a beautiful painting in my mind. Even the sky agrees it's amazing.
Dream nods, then places a hand on my shoulder, I take notice it was wrapped in a dirty bandage.
"This place is a kinder environment. You're safe here." George says softly, and a hum from Dream follows.
I stared out to the city, and a tear ran down my face. A feeling of warmth spread through my body, igniting a flame I thought was gone, but here it was, like a million fireflies in a jar, lighting up all at the same time. This feeling is happiness. I'm feeling happy!
"I haven't felt this happy in over a year." I laugh slightly, Dream looks at me, though his mask covers his real expression, I'm sure it's a sad one. I look to the masked man, "Thank you Dream, thank you so much,"
And all he does is nod and walk off with George. But I still stay at the top, watching the sun completely set, and watch as the stars come out of hiding.
"You coming Vienna?" I hear Sapnap say, he's standing with George and Dream at the bottom, I thought he left. I smile and look out one more time, then walk down to meet the three.
"Of course."
