I found a song that made me cry.
It wasn't even sad, but the lyrics broke my heart.
Just like you did.
It's funny really, that one day I'll be in an interview, or talking with friends.
One of those times where the conversation gets really deep, or it be an innocent question.
And they'll ask,
"Who was the first person to ever break your heart?"
I'll have a sad smile and let out a little chuckle.
When some would say it was their first love or first boyfriend, I'll think for a moment.
Wondering if I should tell the truth or a side lie. Because my first true heart break wasn't a romantic one, it was one caused by someone I called my sister. Someone who had practically been an add on to my family.
A sad face flashes across the person the second I mumble the words
"My childhood best friend."
The remembrance of betrayal slowly lurking it's way back into my heart. Smiling as the conversation moves on, when I knew I would never get over the things she said to me.
