Hello, hello! Do you like... jello? Ignore me, I don't know what's going on. My brain is full of cobwebs at the moment.

Also, as I'm sure some of you have noticed... I'm a week late XD I'm sorry if I made anyone worry. (I did see all your comments, but only recently, so I'm very sorry if I freaked any of you out!) Recently, I've also been working on like two or three other stories, so... we'll see how that affects my updating schedule lol. Thank you for all your support, it really means a lot! Okay, on with the chapter!

.......... Harry's Point of View ..........

I opened the compartment door for (y/n) and she somehow managed to trip over the door, landing inside on the floor with an 'oof'. Ron and Hermione were already waiting for us. Yeah, we're late, so what?

   ...

Okay, here me out: the Monster Book of Monsters and somehow Crookshanks. Actually, maybe it wasn't Crookshanks because Crookshanks is sitting on Hermione's lap. But then again, Crookshanks is a weird... cat. Is it even a cat? It's probably a cat possessed by a ghost.

But anyway, need I give any more explanation for why we're late? Nope. Not at all.

"Harry, you tripped me!" (y/n) yelled from on the floor.

"No, I didn't! I tripped yourself!" I retorted. She flung an arm in my general direction and I snickered before hauling her back onto her feet. Okay, maybe I yanked a little too hard; her back hit my chest and she stumbled, so I grabbed her arm to steady her.

"(y/n), you're such a klutz." Ron laughed. (y/n) stuck her tongue out at him and went to sit next to Hermione, who was across from Ron. It was probably just because she wanted to coo at Crookshanks, though. (Crookshanks was not impressed.)

"Who the hell is that?" I blurted when my eyes landed on a rumpled figure in the corner. They seemed to be fast asleep. Were homeless people allowed onto the Hogwarts Express??

"That's Mr R J Lupin," Hermione explained. Ron turned to her incredulously.

   "How did you know that?!"

"It's on his suitcase, Ronald." Hermione sighed.

   "Oh,"

"'Oh,'" (y/n) mimicked. Ron threw his shoe at her- wait, shoe? Ron, why?

I went and sat down next to Ron after closing the compartment door behind me, taking the seat farthest from the window. The rumpled man was next to Hermione in the window seat.

I sort of zoned out after that. It was surprisingly dark for the middle of the day, the fog clouding over as the train kicked into motion. Soon we were in the familiar greenery, the tracks suspended over a vast body of water. Usually, it was beautiful, but now it seemed... haunted. The once lively green trees towered over us, their branches like spikes. The fog settled over the water, creating a misty, grey, foreboding atmosphere. Before it looked like a nice place for a swim, but I just wondered how many people had drowned there.

Or maybe my mind is just twisted. Who knows.

A sense of urgency suddenly rose within my mind and I turned to my friends, who were attempting to bargain with the trolley witch.

"Okay, just- here." I shoved my gold at the trolley witch, who was starting to get a bit exasperated. She took it gratefully before leaving us with our (probably many) sweets, and I carefully closed the compartment door with a click.

"Harry, what's wrong?" (y/n) asked, concerned. I took a deep breath before kind of... ranting for like fifteen minutes.

"Okay, so, you know when Ron's dad sorta pulled me off to the side the other day? At the Leaky Cauldron?" They nodded with obvious confusion. "So, basically, he was... You know the guy that's been all over the Daily Prophet? The serial killer? Ron's dad told me to watch out for him? And I don't want to die?? At least not yet-"
