"Izuku sweetie! Don't forget you're lunch!" Inko's usual bright voice rang through the small apartment as she, herself stuffed a lunch into her bag.
"I know mum!" Izuku shouted back as he scrambled up the notebook he edited last night and hid it on a small pocket behind his All Might poster. "Oh, mum! I have your lanyard!" Izuku raced out of room and met his mother in the kitchen. Izuku passed the lanyard over to his smiling mother and gratefully took the lunch she handed him.
"Take care alright? Remember, if Katsuki picks on you again I will attract his skin cells." Inko portrayed a completely warm hearted smile but the tint in her eyes sent a shiver down Izuku's spine. "Mum, we were five!" She huffed as she pulled the lanyard over her head and around her neck.
"And I still stand by it." She swiftly made her way to the front door, scanning over her things and her son's uniform. "I'll be off then Izuku. I should be back around lunchtime so I'll prepare dinner for when you get home. Ah but I'll be out again by the time your back so don't wait up." Izuku sighed as his mother started counting her shift hours on her fingers.
"Mum." Inko paused and looked up to her smiling son. "I know. If I don't see you tonight I'll see you in the morning." Inko smiled as she pulled her son into a hug. "I love you Izuku, have a good day." Izuku kept his smile but his heart aches. "I love you too mum." Inko left after that and Izuku let out a quiet sigh as he very slowly grabbed what he needed from the hell he called school.
"Have a great day huh?" Izuku numbly smiled to himself, gently rubbing the light bruise he sported since Monday on his arm. "Keep positive Izuku! You'll prove them you can be a hero!" He smiled to himself before it faltered slightly. "Right...?"
Izuku's walk to school was silent, he slowly wandered the streets to his school, arriving just in time and not any sooner so he didn't have to wait for the teacher in a class full of hyenas.
Izuku swiftly made his way to his seat and his once confident composure he had wore for his mum slipped into slumped shoulders and head down, making his body as small as possible as his classmates laughed and shouted around him.
"Good morning class, take your seats." Izuku zoned out the other voices instantly, ignoring the poking and small paper balls being blown at him through a straw. He payed attention to what the teacher was teaching until his ear perked at a small secret being whispered behind him.
"Wait... You have we-"
"Shut up ass hat." A boy seethed through closed teach and Izuku heard rustling. "But yes, I do. You want to join me in the usual place after school?" Izuku smirked. That dusty alley. It's always that dusty alley. If you're going to smoke weed at least talk about it outside of class and in a different place each time! You're begging to be caught!
Izuku silently chuckled, and opened a small portable nameless notebook, scribbling down details, names and descriptions of his classmates he memorised behind him. This was the one thing Izuku loved about being quirkless. Everyone thought he was a coward, someone who wouldn't speak up about things like this so the 'bad' kids never really cared if Izuku listened in. Dumb asses are going to fill a book up themselves.
A chuckle slipped from Izuku's lips and he stiffened. "What're you laughing at?" Izuku stuffed the notebook away immediately and slipped into his scared persona. "N-Nothing." "That's what I thought. Keep your quirkless mouth shut." Izuku frowned. Oh how I wish I could punch you in the ribs...
Izuku went back to paying attention to the teacher, he caught one more interesting scoop of drama before class ended and he sighed knowing exactly what he was in for.
"OI! SHITTY DEKU!" The familiar and at this point boring shout rang through the now teacher free classroom. "Y-Yes Kacchan?" Izuku shrunk further into his seat, a fake uneasy expression played on his face. Izuku hid the look of boredom as the once childhood friend turned bully stalked up to him and grabbed his English notebook. The two who clung onto Katsuki snickered. You didn't even do anything! Why are you even here actually?!
"Ha, you really are a fucking nerd!" Izuku held in the urge to sigh and just lightly shook in his seat. The cold air from the window helped as he shivered as it met his skin. "Jesus Deku don't piss yourself!" Again the two hyenas laughed. Please leave, I really have a short fuse today. I just wanna go to the forest already.
Should I skip school? Maybe ask to be home school until UA? Nah, that lowers my chances of getting in and I can't have a low attendance or I won't be accepted even if I pass the tests. Plus if I ask mum to be home schooled she's going to know something's up. "DON'T IGNORE ME DEKU!" Izuku flinched back at the sudden load voice ringing in his hears. An explosion followed and Izuku protected his face with his already bruised arms.
"S-Sorry Kacchan! I was just thinking!" "WELL STOP THINKING AND FUCKING LISTEN!" Izuku frowned but twitched as he caught sight of the small explosion crackling in Katsuki's palm. No matter how good at acting Izuku was, those explosions really did have an effect on Izuku and his twitching fingers proved it. Damn, why am I so traumatised over tiny explosions... I'm not a kid anymore...
A/N - Don't worry there won't be a lot of mentions of Izuku's little trauma session. Honestly I just like the idea that from so many years of torment something was left being. And this gives me an excuse to add angst in a later chapter if I need a filler :P
Also you nasty if you got the reference at the beginning. Clean your ears, mind and eyes with bleach. KaCcHaN, wE wErE fIvE! *Have a smooch because you probably need it*
