Chapter 14

Katniss POV

I was at Annie's house and we were doing homework, my mind started wondering again to Peeta, did he hear what Gale said to me in class? Did he care? Annie snapped me out of my thought. "Katniss what are you thinking about this the second time I catch you like this, what's up with you?" I honestly didn't know what to say. "Well I'm just thinking of something" I said quietly. "Or someone.😏 Your thinking about Peeta aren't you." Annie had a big smile on her face. "Okay yes I was, there's nothing wrong with that is there? I admit I still like him." I still kept thinking maybe he doesn't like me. "Why don't you tell him how you feel Katniss maybe he feels the same way." Annie just puts her hand on my shoulder. "And if Peeta doesn't like me then I'm the one that's going to get hurt and that would basically ruin our friendship and everything will be awkward." What I said was true I didn't want to feel that way if he rejected me. Maybe I should think about this too much, I should just concentrate on my school work. After we finally finished the homework I started heading home cause it was almost time for dinner. I hope the volleyball tryout goes well tomorrow.

Peeta's POV

Finnick was at my house today, my mom had invited him for dinner since he was here with me doing school work. "Hey Finnick, you know how I have liked Katniss for a long time right, would you help me, give some advice on how to make the first move." When I looked at him he looked like he was about to cry. "My boy is growing up so fast, my heart hurts.😭" I thought I saw a tear come out."Peeta I was wonder when you would make the first move and its very simple to do." He said to me like he was the expert at everything. "Oh really then how come you haven't asked Annie to be your girlfriend yet" hehehehe 😁. "Okay fine you got me there, I'm waiting till they to the welcome back dance in October which is a week and a half away. Maybe you should ask Katniss to it to; it can be an opportunity to make a move." What he said seemed like a good idea. "Okay so what are the tips for the first move you are taking forever to tell me." I said impatiently. "Okay so basically you don't have to do a lot, so this is level one holding her hand, you have to start out slow; if you go to fast she might think you are acting weird and she might reject you, she has to take notice little by little of your actions so she can easily respond to them back and if she does then that means you have a chance. Did you get what I mean Peeta?""Yeah I got it now how would I ask her to go with me?" I asked him. "Okay first off this one you have to do by yourself cause I told you how for the Carnival date. Maybe you can do the same thing again just use a different image or you can write it out for her and add pretty designs around it." It wasn't a bad idea once we are done with the Homework and after did I'll get started on it, it might take me a while to do and I have some time.

Katniss POV

When I went up to my room, I laid on my bed and thought of Peeta again. There was a knock on my door, wow can't anybody let me think of him for a while!? "Come in" the person came in, it was only Prim,"hey Prim what's up," "hi Katniss I wanted to ask what are you getting me for my 10th birthday, you do know it is in a three weeks." Wow she eager for her birthday party. "Oh no I won't tell you that its a surprise." "You know Katniss since I can invite whoever I want, can you invite Peeta for me PLEASE!!!!!!" "Take it easy little duck, don't worry I'll invite him for you," "OMG thank you thank you Katniss!!!!" And just like that she left the room. Well I guess I'll tell Peeta tomorrow about the birthday party. ~Next day at school

It was break and I decided to wait at Peeta's locker. He came around the corner "hey Peeta I have something to tell you," "sure Katniss what's up." "Oh well I just wanted to ask you if you could come to my little sister birthday party, she wanted me to invite you." "Of course Katniss I wouldn't miss it." He gave me a warm smile that can just melt your heart away. "Well I'll see u in class then :)" The day went pretty by fast if you ask me, and something strange happened, when I went to my history class I was dreading to see Gale, I hope he wasn't going to my a move like that again, especially in front of Peeta; its just so embarrassing that I have to go through this when I only have eyes for Peeta. Well the thing was Gale wasn't here today in class, maybe he decided to change schools since I rejected him yesterday.☺ I was getting a little nervous cause in a little while the tryouts for volleyball will being. Annie is supposed to be here but I don't see her, she better not be running late. "Katniss I'm here what happened," she came up from behind me. "Well nothing so far your right on time the teacher is coming." "Alright students for these tryouts we will be teaching you how to play and how to learn how to communicate to each other when passing the ball, also some good workouts." Great this is going to be every tiring but I'm exited for this. After we were done with the practice I can barley feel my legs, wow there sure was a lot of running for the first day. Annie came out and looked like she was going to stumble backwards. "Hey Annie you okay," "yeah Katniss I'm fine, you know what I think I'll call my mom to ask her if she can give us a ride." I felt so thankful that cause my legs were killing me. The tryouts would take up to a week and a half then the final test.

Peeta's POV

I got home from school and I started working on my own little project for Katniss I think within another day or two it would be finished. At the same time I was thinking on what to get for Katniss little sisters birthday present. I went down stairs and talked to my mom. "Hey mom, Katniss invited me to her little sisters party and I have no idea what to get her," "Well honey just think of something that she doesn't have yet." My mind just kept wondering to animals for some reason, then I had my brilliant idea. "Mom this Saturday can we go to the animal shelter?" "Sure honey" I cant wait for Prim to see this gift, I'm sure she'll love it to death🙂. I went back upstarts to finish my project. All of a sudden I got a text message. It was Katniss, "hey Peeta what are you doing" "hey Katniss I'm working on a art project;" "really Peeta can I see it." I can't let her see it yet its not ready. "I'll show it to you . its almost done." Once I'm don't she will see it and I just hope she says yes.
