Malcolm the Second began crying as he woke up. He was wet and so very hungry.

Marceline Anne got up from the bed. She knew the babies had to be wondering when they'd get to eat. She and their father had exhausted themselves the night before, even waking up to go back at it.

Even now she just wore his night-shirt. She picked the baby up and bounced with him, happy she could. He stopped crying but started chewing on her hair.

"No, baby." She whispered before going to make him a bottle. Then she sat in a chair to feed him.

Both Malcolm the First and Mikaela woke up around the same time but were quiet as they watched mother and son bond.

Marceline Anne spoke lowly to her baby boy, rambling nonsense that made the infant smile. In-between her prose, she was kissing him all over his small face.

Finally he was full and burped. His eyes slid closed and he was soon sleep-singing like his father did.

She got up to put him in his crib then picked up Mikaela. She kissed her and fed her and spoke inane chatter to her.

Mikaela ended up falling asleep from her mom's administrations.

Marceline Anne went to get a hot-ish soapy towel to wash both kids then changed their diapers before putting on their designer duds.

Malcolm the First sat up a bit to watch her. She was such a good mother.

When both twins were clean and dressed, she climbed back in the bed and yawned, closing her eyes gently.

He just looked at her before reaching out to draw her close.

A smile crawled across her tiny, fat face.

He leaned over her. "I love you."

She stroked his nape as she opened her eyes. "I love you."

He really loved hearing that. So it wasn't a dream...

She couldn't believe she'd finally told him and he'd said it back. So this is love?

He leaned down slowly and gave her an unhurried kiss.

She let it go for a while before giggling and wrapping her arms around his neck.

Trying to be quiet for the twins, they had a merry ole time.

"Marcy?! Malcolm?!" Norah knocked on the door again.

Marceline Anne opened the door. "Hey, sweetness."

"What were you doing?" Norah tried to peek in the room.

Marceline Anne pulled the door up a bit. "What's wrong?"

"It's Christmas morning."

"Yes?"

"Are we opening presents?"

Marceline Anne's eyes widened. She'd forgotten about that. "Oh yes! Get Chase and go get started. We'll be right down."

Norah smiled and hugged her. "You smell funny."

Marceline Anne just patted her head.

Norah ran off, back to the room she shared with her brother.

Marceline Anne went back inside her room. "We might have to make an appearance."

Malcolm the First scowled.

She giggled.
