Darkness Takes Over

I'm trapped in the dead of the night

It's so dark I can't see any light

The darkness, it starts to consume little by little

I feel it pulling me and I tremble

I'm trying my best to get out of the dark

But the more I try, the more I fall apart

It's like there is no more hope for me now

But I still have to get out somehow

You're standing right there on the bright side

I call for you, but you can't hear my plight

My voice is so soft, because it feels like I'm being choked

I'm losing my breath and this isn't a joke

My hands are going numb as I try to reach out to you

Since it's so dark here, you can't see what I'm trying to do

I struggle, I fight, all through the night

I try my best but it seems, its grip is too tight

I'm definitely thrashing, screaming, pushing and shouting

I'm using all my strength to not be dragged in

I keep fighting even if I know I can never win

It finally pulls me hard and I never see you or the light again
