RUN AWAY

Everything seems to be so tiring for the past 6 days. My brother needs to be admitted so the doctor can run some test to know how big is the tumor. He needs to undergo surgery to get it. The doctor also told us that it's better that the seizure happens early because if it happens when he is older than it is very dangerous for him. So, we're relieved because of that.

I was looking at my messages to her. I keep on refreshing it to get new messages but nothing is there. No response from her. I called her many times every day and text her tons of messages. But she seems ignoring it. I can't go to her because every time i tried to my presence is needed in here. It feels like the situation always stopping me to see her.

"Son, can you buy us something to eat?" my father told me. I nod as a response and went to ground floor where the canteen is. My parents start to get closer again and I'm happy for it. Mom also needs him, even if she doesn't show it and Dad knows that. I like how my family stays in one place like how we used to before, the only difference is that, it's because of my brother's health. And I'm really praying for him to get better.

"It's 560." the cashier said. I gave her 1,000 bills. As I was about to receive my exchange something caught my attention. I don't know how to react but my heart just skips a beat and i just drop the food I'm holding.

"No, Sandy..." I uttered. My tears keep on flowing and my heart feels so broken, painful.

It's Sandy's house. In the news, the fire is swallowing their house and too many fire men are working on it to stop. I can see how thick the smoke is and everyone in their is panicking. My eyes get big when my thoughts say maybe she is there and she is fighting for her life now. Thinking of it scares me. No, she had enough fought already. I need to save her.

I start the ignition when I got inside my car and drove fast to their house. My hands are sweating and cold. Just the thought of her being dead horrifies me.

"Oh God, Sandy! Please be safe." I murmured. After minutes of driving, I got in the scene. I saw how people gathered in the area, watching how the fire is being taking care of. Whispering things to each other.

"I heard they are fighting inside, probably beating her daughter again. Then things like this happens. Poor kid she shouldn't be experiencing those terrible things to her own mother." i heard a middle age woman said to someone beside her. I quickly grab her shoulder.

"Jesus young man! You startled me! What's wrong with you?! " She shouted at me.

"I-I'm sorry ma'am but where is the owner of the house? And Sandy? Did she get out of there? Is she safe? Where is she? " I asked panicking. She looks at her friend, probably confused why I asked those.

"I'm her friend. Please I need to know."

"Well, I'm sorry but I didn't see the owner nor the daughter in the area. You should ask the authority they surely answer your question. And I'm sorry for what happen to your friend."

I squeeze myself in the crowd to get in front. When I did, I enter in the scene. An officer stops me but I was persistent to get to their head officer.

"What's happening in here? " a bald man speaks. He is wearing the usual uniform but he got some stars on his shoulder right then I recognize him as higher than the others.

"I'm a friend of Sandy, the daughter of the owner of the house. I just want to know where she is right now? "

"Oh, she is nowhere to be found kid. Some witnesses saw her running away after she and her mother fought inside. And that was the time the fire starts to swallow their house. But don't worry we are looking for her, she is the prime suspect for now." he said. My eyes went big and i got furious.

"What?! Why would she be the suspect? Is someone die?! "

"Her mother is dead. Inside." as he said those words a body is being taking out from the house and my mind just went blank and everything seems to get blurry and slow-mo.

What? She didn't kill her. She can't kill her. She treasures her somehow despite the treatment she got from her. Sandy won't do that. She can't.
