Chapter 3 A Campfire of Chaos

-Author Note- Hello people, just wanted to say I am sorry I haven't been able to update the new chapters because of school. Thank god it's the weekend:> Alright, you're here to read not listen to me ramble on about crap! Byeee -Author Note Ends-    [ Third Person ]

Sage was no walking side by side with Piper. She seemed really nice, but she was very protective of her boyfriend, Jason. They were headed to the evening campfire. Sage was really nervous to have all those campers eyes on her. She was kind of shy.

Sage had had a blast that day. A boy named Percy Jackson came and showed her how to surf, [he had made the waves though] and even how to do several diving flips. He was really nice, but what was really creepy was this girl named Annabeth. Annabeth had hidden in a tree with binoculars tied around her head, glaring at Sage the whole time. Sage didn't know what her problem was, but when she asked Percy, he had said that it was his girlfriend. Sage smirked. [ Makes sense.] she thought.

After lunch, Sage had wandered around the cabins. She found herself at cabin 4, the Demeter cabin. She was admiring the grassy roof when a girl walked out. She had shiny blonde hair and deep green eyes. "Hey there," she said. "I'm Katie Gardner." Sage went to go shake her hand but Katie sneezed. She grabbed the side of the door, knocking the edge of the roof on top of her. The dirt had her pinned against the ground. "Curses!" she screeched. "Hurry, go get someone to help!" "Sage yelled for help, and try'd moving the dirt off of Katie. It was completely solid and wouldn't budge. Sage glared at the dirt. She closed her eyes and held her hands out. [Please work...] she thought. Sage had a special power, but she couldn't control it. It had a mind of it's own. Suddenly, the dirt block lifted, and landed next to Katie, still sprawled on the ground.

Sage rushed to her side and said, "You okay?" "I'm fine." Katie replied, dusting the dirt off her. Her eyes were as wide as the moon. "But how did you MOVE that dirt off me? Was it like, with your mind?!?" "I'm not exactly sure." Sage said. "I can only do it every once in a while." Sage collapsed, and blacked out.

When Sage woke up, she realized she was in the infirmary. Leo, Piper, Percy, and Katie were all leaning over Sage. "What happened?" Sage questioned. " Katie told us what happened," Percy said. "Using your demigod power drains you pretty quickly, if you don't have much practice." "Oh, okay." Sage said. "I feel fine now, so can I go?" Piper chirped in. "Chiron doesn't want you using up too much energy, so Leo agreed to teach you how to weld. Leo's face got bright pink. "I d-did?" he stammered. Piper smashed her foot into his shin, making him squeak. "I mean, yes I did! Let's go Sage!"  

 Leo had taken her to the mechanics shop and shown her how to weld. His hand kept in catching on fire and freaked the living crap out of Sage. He laughed nervously and put his hands in his pockets. "It happens sometimes...when I'm, um, nervous." Leo said. Piper walked in to say hey, just as a horn blew. "Looks like it's time for the camp fire." Piper grinned. "You two love birds ready?" Sage could feel the hot red rushing into her cheeks. She glanced at Leo and noticed he was as red as well. "We aren't.." I started to protest. "Yah her and I a..." We both kept on stuttering, looking at our feet.

Piper grabbed my hand laughing. "Okay, guys I'm just messing with you!" Piper started laughing harder. Leo and Sage forced out a nervous laugh, not making eye contact. "Alright lets go!" Sage said. Piper dragged Sage out of the mechanic shop, her face red from laughter.

  [First Person]

I didn't have a certain place to sit, so the camp activities director, Chiron, had me stand by him. Chiron had a humans torso and head, but the rest of him was a horses body. A centaur, I think. The campfire in the middle was absolutely beautiful. People said that it's colors went with the mood of the people around her, and right now it was high in the sky, the color of red and orange. [These people must be excited]

Chiron cleared his throat, and the talking died down. "Demigods of Camp Half Blood," he started. " Today has been an interesting day. As you can see, we have a new camper here." He waved his hand towards me, motioning me to come forward. I shuffled forward, smiling meekly. "Her name is Sage Blossom. We are unsure of her godly parent, but today, with several tests, we have found out that Sage has the gift of moving the Earth." he said. "Now, I haven't seen anyone from the Demeter cabin do that yet, but that may be Sage's mother." Katie squealed and high-fived a nearby camper.

Chrion's eyes narrowed at Katie. "Ms.Gardner, that does not mean that Sage will be staying with you from now on. "But she did save my life!" Katie protested. "It's no big deal, really." I started getting embarrassed from all the attention. Other campers murmured and nodded in agreement.

All of a sudden a bright light burst above her, and golden\silver sparkles rained down on her. "She's being claimed!!!" a person squealed. The sparkles started swirling around my clothes. "She's Aphrodite's child!" Someone said. "But where's the dove?" said another. There was no mark above my head, so I just thrust my arms out as the sparkles enclosed around me completely.

When I was revealed to the crowd again, I wasn't in my clothes. Instead, I was wearing a silky dress of-wait- flowers? There were cherry blossoms in my hair, and vines going around my arms and legs. A staff made of rock and dirt appeared in my hand. Then, the glowing above my head burst into flames. A laughing voice filled the camp, and people started screaming and pointing above me. It was a woman's face, the lady I saw in my dreams. She grinned, and flowers poofed out of her mouth.

I stood there, stunned. "GAEA! IT WAS GAEA!!! SHE'S SENT HERE TO KILL US!!!"  people all around me scattered, but some closed in around me. "A daughter of Gaea, eh?" said Drew, a girl from the Aphrodite cabin. "I don't want to kill anybody!" I said. Hot tears started streaming out of my eyes. "I honestly don't know what's going on." A boy from the Ares cabin raises his sword. "STOP!" a girl yelled. Everybody froze. That girl was Piper. Beauty radiated off of her as she marched through the crowd, Leo and Percy following. "Nobody, is hurting my friend. Not because she's a daughter of Gaea." "Wait, Gaea?" I said. Isn't she like, Mother Earth or something???"

"She is," Drew sneered. "But she's also a mega enemy to this camp. We all hate her."  Piper joined in. "But that doesn't mean that Sage is an enemy!"  "Yah!" part of the camp yelled. Sage smiled. At least some people were on my side, right? Chiron ordered everybody to return to their cabins, and said, "Sage, Leo, Piper and Percy, follow me please." He took us into his office and slammed the doors shut.
