when Jungkook opened his eyes, he felt something laying on his back. he was still in the concert hall, the lights were on again, blinding him slightly. he rubbed his eyes, yawned.

"good morning Jungkookie."

the weight lifted off of his back. Taehyung was sitting besides him, smiling amused. Jungkook's eyes widened.

"i'm so sorry i fell asleep. i swear i heard your solo! it was so good i became all dreamy."

he had a pleading look on his face. the other just chuckled and ruffled the younger's hair.

"it's okay, i believe you."

"how do we get out of here?"

"i have the keys. they let me practice here pretty often."

Jungkook bit his cheek, contemplating if he should ask the question that had bothered him for multiple days and nights now. he was unsure but the other was the only person he could ask. Taehyung looked at him with questioning eyes. how did the older always know what was going on in his mind? maybe he was a mind reader after all.

"can i ask you something?"

"sure."

Jungkook looked away. his fingers awkwardly fiddling at the buttons of his jacket. he shifted in his seat a bit. the older waited patiently.

"uhm how... how did you find out that you... i mean... i..."

he sighed. he rested his head in the palms of his hands.

"how did you find out that you were gay?"

Taehyung leaned back in his seat. he had not expected that type of question. he thought long about his answer. cleared his throat.

"if you're asking this for the reason i think you are asking for - there is no specific, no final sign for it. it is not easy and nothing that one figures out overnight. it's a series of thoughts and events that take their time. it is a feeling. one will feel it once they are ready for it."

they had their eyes fixed on the empty stage in front of them. Jungkook nodded slowly. he was still confused but he didn't have the guts to ask again. they stayed silent for a while.

"did you practice the duet you had promised me on our first meeting?"

Jungkook nodded again. he had often practiced when there were no costumers at the café. Taehyung stood up and walked down the stairs towards the stage.

"come on let's play it."

the younger followed him to the piano. he sat down and laid his fingers on the keys. Taehyung unpacked his cello and sat down as well.

Debussy's piece they had practiced individually was titled 'valse la plus que lente'. they had played it so often on their own so that they didn't need any music sheets. they didn't even think about those in the moment.

Taehyung played his first notes and Jungkook started at the right time to play his. someone who listend would've never guessed that they had never practiced together. only the sound of their instruments counted right now. the conversation and words from before were forgotten. they were one with the music.
