Chapter 30: Questioning rumors
“Jeon Jungkook and Kim Taehyung are in a complicated relationship? Apparently, plenty of footage showed that the two argues inside the restaurant. Yet, it's not either confirm or deny by the two.”
“The rumors about Taehyung and Jungkook's relationship are real?! The two were seen in the company under Jung Hoseok's name, and the employees can confirm that the two stayed in the malfunctioned elevator. Some witnesses can prove how Jungkook took care of his secret fiancé. And it seems the rumors about their relationship were slowly getting to unfold.”
“What are these?” Taehyung asked while reading the tabloids.
“It's been all over the media for over a week. I've tried to stop it, however, a lot of rumors kept spreading about you two.” Hoseok told him.
They were inside Hoseok's office talking about the rumors. Jungkook was there with them, but he hasn't spoken yet.
“These are just baseless rumors, how can I stop them?” Taehyung inquired, looking at Hoseok.
“I don't think we can stop it, even if we deny this allegation, people will surely find something to prove they are right with their suspicion. I'm sure they will look at the past. Unless we give them the news that they will satisfy their reaction.” Hoseok stated.
“What do you mean by that?” Taehyung responded by asking.
“Let's prove to them that they are right.” Hoseok said.
“What? Don't tell me you want me to be in a relationship with him, don't you?” Taehyung pointed to Jungkook, who was standing beside him.
“I mean, just for a moment until these rumors die. That's the only thing we can stop this.” Hoseok recommended.
“I rather want to deny this allegation than be in a relationship with him.” Taehyung argued.
“Do you think they will believe in you? They will dig into your past and everything will be revealed. Do you want them to open up about that event again, Taehyung?” Hoseok stated.
“I don't want to, but—”
“I'll work on this one, I doubt that option is necessary. It would be better to deny these rumors. I will shut down the publisher who keeps doing this.” Jungkook finally spoke.
“Can you do that, Jungkook? We both know that your company isn't doing that well yet. It will be a big loss for your company. The publisher of these rumors isn't just a small company.” Hoseok retorted.
“Then help him, Hyung, you can do that. Don't you?” Taehyung replied.
“It's not as easy as you think, Taehyung. Trust me, I tried to do to stop them, but it didn't work whatsoever. They are known for being a reliable source when it comes to business. They can ruin reputation as well.” Hoseok explained.
“Can't we just do something to stop them? This is messed up.” Taehyung uttered.
“I told you, the only thing we can do so far is to prove that they are right. It won't just stop the rumors, but also from profiling them.” Hoseok said.
“I will think about it, Hyung.” Taehyung left the office, frustrated.
“How about you, Jungkook? What's your decision?” Hoseok asked, looking at Jungkook.
“I rather won't speak about this situation. For now, I think it's better to think about it.” Jungkook sighed.
“Are you sure you won't agree with me? I'm certain this will benefit you. After all, Taehyung is a big name in the business. He will surely help you with your company.” Hoseok stated.
“I don't have the intention of using Taehyung for my personal issue.” Jungkook retorted.
“I'm not saying it like that, what I mean is two of you will benefit from this situation. Since you two are quite a big name, I'm sure with my option, you two will grow with each other—I mean together.” Hoseok explained.
“I don't think so, Hyung, I don't want to force Taehyung to do something he doesn't want to. I don't want to hurt him.” Jungkook replied with a sigh.
“I understand, I will give you time to think about it. If you don't want it, I won't force you two.” Hoseok said.
“Thank you for understanding, Hyung, I will go now.” Jungkook smiled a bit.
“Sure, you can leave.” Hoseok responded.
He watched Jungkook leave his office. With a shake of his head, he let out a frustrated groan.
“Why they don't just listen to me?” He sighed.
Jungkook was walking into the parking lot to go to his car, but he heard noises from somewhere.
“Mr. Kim, what can you say about the rumors? Is it true or false?”
“When are you going to reveal your relationship with Mr. Jeon?”
“Why are you hiding it?”
Jungkook saw numerous media surrounding Taehyung, attempting to get an answer to their questions. He went there to get Taehyung by pushing them away from him. He grabbed Taehyung's arm, causing Taehyung to flinch a bit, and looked at him with nervous teary eyes.
He was sure it was not because of their questions, but because Taehyung is claustrophobic. They were pressing against him, even space couldn't be seen.
“No more questions, please.” Jungkook told them, pulling Taehyung closer to him.
Taehyung hides his face in Jungkook's neck, clutching his shirt while Jungkook hugs him tightly, to assure that he is fine.
“Mr. Jeon, what can you say about the rumors?”
“Are you two really in a relationship?”
“Whether it's true or not, none of you have the right to know about it. Don't invade his privacy just to get goddamn questions.” Jungkook spoke with a stern tone.
He dragged Taehyung with him, shoving the camera off their faces. He opened the door of the car for Taehyung and let him get inside first, while the media kept following them, flashing their cameras to capture them.
“But Mr. Jeon, the public would like to know about it. Why don't you just admit it?”
“Right, Mr. Jeon, are you in a relationship with Mr. Kim, or he's just having an affair? Clarify the situation to us, Mr. Jeon!”
They didn't get any answer because Jungkook got inside his car after he made sure that Taehyung was in his car and started to drive away from them.
