James POV

It's the 20th of December. 11 more days until Christmas Eve! Well actually, us Demigods like celebrating Christmas and New Year on the same day, or night. Also 11 days until Jasper's party!

I run to my spot on the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall/Room. The tables have been made smaller, into round tables because there's not a lot of people during Christmas.

Right now it's lunch. I have a great idea of what we're going to do once we eat.

I sit down next to Sammy and Jasper and start eating.

I take some soup. Noodles as well. Hogwarts's food is sometimes kind of weird.

"Hey, guys!" I hear Alice say. We all look up from our food to look at her. "Do you guys want to see the House Elves once we eat?". House Elves? Oh right, they're the ones that make our food and do the chores.

"Sure, but once we do that, do you want to go outside and have a snow fight? Or build a snow fort?" I ask. We've all been kind of bored these last few days and there's snow outside! I hoped they would say yes.

"That's a great idea, James! I saw the snow, it's like one meter tall!" Sammy exclaims. I smile, once we go see the House Elves we're going outside.

Time Skip

"I'm pretty sure we're lost Alice," I state after we took another turn. "I'm also pretty sure we were here already," I tell her.

"No, we're pretty close. It's right around the corner.". We've been following Alice for the last 15 minutes, she's the only one who knows where the kitchen is, that's where the House Elves are. "We're here!", she yells in triumph.

"Uh, Alice, there's nothing here," Jasper states quite plainly.

"That's what you think, now watch and learn." She says while walking over to a picture with a fruit basket. She then tickles the pear. Once she does that a passageway pops up.

"Told you to believe me." And we follow her. On the other side of the tunnel is the kitchen, we walk in and see House Elves everywhere. At the stove, table, fridge. Everywhere.

The four of us walk in and stare, I've never seen a House Elf before.

The House Elves stare at us, well at me, Jasper, and Sammy. Alice must've already come here before.

"Is there something you want Miss Alice? And if it's not rude, who are those three?" A House Elf walks up to us. He is wearing a paper bag and a sock.

"Dobby! I told you to not call me Miss Alice!" Alice reminds him. Dobby quivers in his spot, like if he's expecting something to happen to him. He notices that nothing happens and stands straight. (Dobby's alive in this story).

"Also, to answer your question, these people are my friends. The tallest one is Jasper, the girl is Sammy, and James is the one over here." She points at me.

"We just wanted to meet you, since we've never seen a House Elf before," I state.

"I understand, is there something else you want?" Dobby asks politely. I smile.

"No need Dobby, we're just fine. Also, thank you for all of our wonderful meals, and see you another time." We wave and walk out.

"Dobby was really nice; I wonder why the other House Elves didn't talk to us?", Sammy wondered.

"Well, House Elves are called House Elves for a reason. They were created because some wizards were too lazy to clean up after themselves. They're like your maids." We all nod. "Now, some House Elves have rude masters that hit them, or do horrible things." I almost thought I heard her say, "Like freeing them." But I shook the thought away.

"So, of course, they would wonder what we would be like, and be shy." I look at Sammy to see her lost in her thoughts.

"But why did, what's his name? Dobby! Why did he wear a weird sock? And why are they wearing rags?". Alice sighs.

"It is a rule that House Elves wear rags and can only be freed by clothing." None of us understood. "So if they were a maid, they would've been fired.". Our eyes widen.

"But why with clothing?" I ask the question that we were all thinking about.

"I don't know, it's just a thing, that if a House Elf's master gives the House Elf clothing. They're free.". Sammy smiles.

"That's great!" She voices her thought about the subject. Alice looks down.

"Not for the House Elves.".

"What do you mean?" Sammy asks, wondering why someone would reject freedom.

"House Elves were made to clean and do chores. If they're master just said. 'Leave' and gave them clothing. What would they do for the rest of their lives? Wander around until they die?". We all stop talking and think.

"I guess your right, but why is Dobby wearing a sock?" Jasper inquires.

"Dobby is a bit different from the other House Elves. He wants freedom, and in Potter's second year. Dobby was freed." We all nod, showing that we understand.

I clap my hands. "Well that's enough small talk, who's up to a snow fight," I say, lightening the mood of the others.

The others smile and we go to put our winter clothes on. No one wants a cold right before New Year. And no one wants to listen to Alice's mom screaming about why we should wear Winter Clothes. (Let me say, been there, done that).

School starts soon for me and I'm writing about Christmas. Just great. Well anyway, I don't own any of the characters except for Alice, Jasper, James, and Sammy. Remember that. Also thank you for the reads and keep on reading! (I'll be doing A/Ns after the chapters or before from now on).
