It's been about a few hours since I arrived in The Gaming Universe. So far, it hasn't been that bad. The mini fridge Switch left me was full of apple slices and grapes, which was unexpected to leave for gamers, but hey, it's still food!

As promised, Pat showed up a bit past 9 to check up on me. She was actually shocked to see nothing different about the building.

"There's seriously nothing new?!" she asked me. "I expected at least a painting or something."

"Well, I'm mainly trying to convince myself this is all really happening!" I replied with a chuckle.

"Yeah, that sounds pretty normal," she replied with a smile. "Have you found a job yet?"

"Um...no."

"That's understandable; you're in a world where you can live your perfect fantasies yet you still need a job!"

"Yeah, pretty much!"

"Well, fortunately for you," she continued, "I do know a few worlds that are hiring!"

"Like what?"

"Well, I'd love to tell you now, but it's pretty late, and even though the worlds are open 24/7, we gamers do get tired."

"Pat, if there's one thing gamers can do, it's pull all-nighters," I told her.

"While that is 100% true, you don't want to go to a job interview when you're about to pass out."

"Good point."

"So how about you get some rest, and I'll check out some game worlds I think you might like to work at?"

"Sure, why not?"

She then smiled and gave my shoulder a pat.

"It really is nice to see you here, Awsome," she told me.

"Same here, Pat," I replied.

"Well, then, I suppose I'll see you tomorrow, then?"

"I suppose so!"

She then gave a quick nod and walked out of my new home, closing the door behind her. I then waited a few seconds before I slowly looked around the place once more. I really couldn't believe I was in my own home in a universe where my everyday lifestyle was not only accepted, but encouraged! Of course, for all I know, this could still be a dream. I looked at the bed in my room and decided there was only one way to prove it.

I walked to the bed, pulled off the blanket, laid on the mattress, placed my glasses on the ground, and closed my eyes. If I was still here when I woke up, I'd know that this wasn't a dream, that I was actually in a completely different universe that was revolved around video games. Of course, that sounded too good to be true.

I heard a knocking sound suddenly. I opened my eyes and saw the sun shining through a window nearby. I didn't even remember falling asleep! I looked around and saw I was still in the new house in the Gaming Universe! So, this really was happening...?

The knocking played again. I grabbed my glasses, got out of bed, and ran towards the front door. I opened it up and found my short-haired friend with a smile.

"You ready?" she asked.

"What time is it?" I replied while rubbing my eyes.

"9 am," she replied. "I thought I'd let you get some extra sleep before the interviews."

"Right, right..." I said with a yawn. "What exactly do I need to do at these interviews?"

"Just act calm and natural. No need to dress fancy or anything; you just need to do what they ask."
