Third person POV
Her eyes widened and her jaw hung slightly. La piazza she thought to herself, oh God.
How was lando to know that her grandfather owned it right? If her family see her walk in with a guy, let alone an F1 driver they'd have a field day.
Lando noticed her expression and became confused. Did she not like Italian food? Falcone is her last name, that's Italian right? Does she not like the restaurant?
He hopped out of the car and jogged to her door to open it. She had a nervous smile on her face as she took his hand.
Alexandrina's heart was beating a mile a minute, she was praying to every holy entity in existence that her family wouldn't see her. She didn't want all their questions hurled at him. She didn't want to scare him away. As they entered the hostess recognised her immediately. Lina a family friend, the tall blonde walked over to the pair will a smile upon her face. As she opened her mouth to greet them Alexandrina widened her eyes and lightly shook her head.
"Hi welcome to la piazza, did you have a table booked?"
"Hi, I have a table booked under Norris," lando said
"Of course, let me show you to your table." Lina grabbed two menus and a wine list and guided Lando and Alexandrina to their table. She led them to a table at the back of the restaurant and set the menus down.
She whispered in Alexandrina's ear "I'll tell them not to make a fuss, lucky Carmine's not in," she gave her a wink and strolled back to the front of the restaurant. Carmine is Drina's grandfather, although they were close, they were never close enough to talk about boys, it always weirded them both out.
Lando pulled her chair out for her and she sat down.
"Sorry I'm so nervous," she said with a slight smile.
"I'm nervous too, I don't want to mess it up." Lando said, giving her hand a squeeze, "So, have you been here before?"
"A few times, have you?"
"No its my first time, Charles recommend it,"
Both of them hated small talk, and were thankful when Lina returned to take their order. Lando ordered the spinach and feta ravioli, and Alexandria ordered the lobster and shrimp ravioli, with a glass of red wine (which lando would soon find out is her favourite).
Alexandrina broke the silence that fell after Lina left, "Sorry I know you're not supposed to eat so unhealthy before a race, I don't want you to get told off,"
"Nah don't worry about it, Jon won't find out. it can be our secret," he said with a cheeky grin.
Alexandrina had never been so stumped on what to talk about, usually people couldn't get het to shut up. And it didn't help that people started to realise Lando was there, almost every pair of eyes in the restaurant was on them. But he only seemed to notice her. The dim lighting made her eyes shine like diamonds he couldn't take his eyes off them. And Drina became more and more speechless whenever she looked into his emerald eyes. He was dressed in a crisp white button down, with blue distressed jeans and white sneakers. His silver cufflinks had his initials engraved into them.
"Tell me something you've never told anyone," she asked with a slight glint of mischief in her eyes. He thought for a few seconds until he remembered something.
"When I was younger I used to be scared of spoons, I didn't like that they made my reflection turn upside down." he said with his cheeks turning Ferrari red.
"Lando I don't know what I was expecting... but it wasn't that. Spoons?!" she said in disbelief and shock. With out a second thought she shoved her spoon to his side of the table causing them both to chuckle. He was glad she saw the funny side to it.
