Alexandrina's POV
The deafening sound of my morning alarm woke me up abruptly from my slumber. I groaned at the sound of it, I hate mornings. I fly out to Monaco tonight and its about time I finish packing. the monaco Grand Prix is always my favourite, the parties the people the whole thing is so extravagant, oh and the race is interesting too! My best friend Adriana goes to way more races than I do, but I guess that's what's expected when you're Max Verstappen's girlfriend.
Adriana and Max have been together since they were 16. They met when he was in formula 2, her dad owns a team and she just happened to go to the track that day. they've been inseparable ever since.
I realised that Adriana will be here soon to help me pack. I rolled out of bed and stumbled to my bathroom. I decided to take a hot shower and wash the sleepyness away. After I got out I wiped the steam of the mirror and looked at myself. I didn't bother with makeup and it was a travel day and i'd rather be comfy. I took my long brown hair out of the towel and ran some strengthening serum through the ends and began to blow dry it then I left it down.
After what seemed like an eternity my hair was finally dry. I moisturised my skin and hoped I don't get any unwanted pimples whilst I'm at the race, god that would be annoying. I strolled back into my bedroom and rummaged through my wardrobe for something to wear. I settled for my black nike pro shorts and an oversized nirvana t-shirt, I'm at home who cares am I right?
I heard three light taps at the front door, then it opened. Adriana was FINALLY here. I gave her a key to my house last year. its so weird sometimes I forget and I'm so startled when I come home and see her on my couch! its even weirder because I live alone, I moved out of my parents place in the countryside a year and a half ago and now I live in Chelsea, it feels good to have my own place. its nice having some peace and quiet.
"Buongiorno 'drina!" she called up, "Hurry up and come down I brought breakfast!"
Damn it breakfast. The thought of travelling made me so anxious I forgot about food. the whole idea of flying at 30000 ft in a tin can made my stomach churn. I grabbed my laptop and darted downstairs and sped into the kitchen. I greeted my best friend with a pack on each cheek, Italian style. Adriana retrieved two plates from the cupboard as I seated myself at the breakfast bar. Mmm lattes and croissants, this should take my mind off flying. there was a comfortable silence in the air as we both ate.
"Excited to see Maxie?" I said, breaking the silence. 'Maxie' was the nickname I had for Max and he's always hated it which is all the more reason to keep using it.
"I'm soooo excited to see him even though we saw each other recently, but- but I'm slightly nervous. he doesn't have the best of luck in Monaco especially after quali last year, sometimes he gets too eager and makes silly mistakes." she explained. Every time she spoke about him her cheeks turned rose and her ocean blue eyes lit up. It always put a smile on my face seeing her happy.
"Max is one of the best in the game Adriana, and this season has been going well from what I've seen, trust me he'll be fine." I reassured her, "Now now, you aren't here to worry, you're here to help me pack" we both giggled and walked back upstairs to my room gossiping and talking rubbish.
After hours of scrolling through social media and watching dozens of shitty films, I was finally packed. I left my luggage by the front door ready for tonight my flight was at 3:30 am so i'll probably leave at about midnight. Since it was only four in the afternoon and we'd finished the main task for Adriana fell into a light sleep whilst I decided to carry on with some uni work. I grabbed some birthday cake from the kitchen. it was my 20th birthday a week ago and I had a crazy get together with all my friends, hence the cake. I brought it back upstairs making sure I stay as silent as possible so I don't wake Adriana.
At uni I'm studying maths/physics, it's a pain in the ass but I'm in my last year. The only annoying thing is that I have no clue what to do when I finish uni.
I could feel my eyes wanting to shut after sometime so I set an alarm for 11pm and I passed out next to Adriana.
