"BELLE," A VOICE whispered gently. "Hey, Belle, wake up."

The girl's eyes slowly fluttered open. She was still laying on the terrace with the blankets over her. Her shoulder was still throbbing and was incredibly sore, but she felt a lot better than she had before. Belle looked up to see Annabeth standing there with her video shield in full battle armor.

Belle sat up and rolled her bad shoulder, slightly wincing at the pain. "Hey, what's up? Is there another attack?"

"Yeah, but I didn't want to wake you," Annabeth admitted. "I don't want you to hurt your shoulder anymore. But . . . it's bad, Belle. There's a whole army heading south into Central Park. I have a feeling we're going to need as many people as we can get. I don't like it, but that includes you."

Belle cautiously stood up and settled herself on her feet. "All right. Let's go."

With some assistance from Annabeth, she put her armor back on and they left the terrace. Once they entered back in the hotel, they were met with a concerned Percy Jackson with his arms crossed. Nobody else was in the room, probably already outside.

"When you said recruiting more people, I didn't think you meant Belle," Percy told Annabeth.

Annabeth raised an eyebrow. "I don't want her to get hurt either, but Belle will be fine. She can take care of herself."

"And I promise if I get too hurt I'll sit the next battle out," Belle added.

Percy sighed. "You should really be resting, Beauty."

"Hey, come on," Belle argued. "I've got nectar and ambrosia in my system. It'll work its magic."

They seemed to have a battle with their eyes.

Finally, Percy caved in. "Okay, fine. You'll probably argue about it until you win, anyways. But you stay by my side, am I clear?"

She gave him a small smile. "Crystal."

The three of them left the building. Once they got to the reservoir, they saw that Thalia with her Hunters and the rest of the head counselors. It was twilight, so all of the lights of the city were blinking on. Street lamps around the reservoir and gave the water and trees a spooky look.
