Twilight Vs. the Future

Twilight stared at the calendar in the kitchen as she ate some toast, thinking about what has happened this whole month.

It's the last week of Summer... which meant Dipper and Mabel have to leave in a week. Her mind kept coming back to what Soos said earlier this morning...

"The future is coming for us all."

The future... Twilight didn't even know if she has a future once the Rift is sealed. She'll most likely have to leave and find somewhere else she might belong in this world... but she didn't want to leave Ford. The only person who was there for her, the one who was more like a father to her than her actual father...

She finished the last of her toast when an explosion shook the ground, causing her to lose her balance a bit.

"Dipper! Twilight! My face is on fire!"

That was Ford! And he sounded distressed! She ran for his room as fast as her human legs could, a small fireman hat replaced her top hat as a hose appeared in her hands. She and Dipper arrived at the scene as they skidded across the floor.

"Great Uncle Ford! Are you okay!?" Dipper asked frantically.

"Where's the fire!? I'll put it out!" Twilight said also, looking around for any signs of a fire.

Ford turned around, looking completely fine except for some smoke coming from part of his face.

"Oh yes I'm fine. I just said that to make sure you two come in here more quickly."

"But your face actually is on fire." Twilight pointed out.

"Yes. It's much faster than shaving." Ford replied, patting the smoke away.

Her face turns red in embarrassment, the hose disappearing and her top hat returning to it's spot.

"Now, listen you two. We have a very important mission and you two are the only ones who can help me. remember the Rift? It's cracking..."

Twilight stared at the snow-globe like item, admiring it for all it's worth. So that was what she was meant to find... It looked really pretty, almost like she was looking into a small blob of outer space. Yet a few cracked lines could be seen on the glass encasing it, and one of them extended. She reminded herself no, you're not forced to break it, you're here to help not sabotage.

"This is what Bill has been waiting for. If it breaks, it will cause reality as we know it to completely unravel. A hypothetical and catastrophic event I call... Weirdmageddon."  

Twilight covered her mouth in shock at the sight of the chalkboard Ford walked to. It displayed what'll happen if the Rift tears and her father gets to this world... It looks as horrifying as it sounds, and the small image of her father there wasn't helping.

"Bill is out there... And he'll use any trick. From deception to outright possession to make this happen. But for the sake of humanity, we mustn't let it." Said Ford.

"What do we do?" Dipper asked.

"We patch the Rift. I'll explain on the way."

The six fingered Scientist puts the Rift in a black suitcase, locking it.

After Dipper bid farewell to Mabel, the three head out to find a way to seal the Rift. Twilight could tell Dipper was super nervous since this is the first time all three of them are out on a expedition. Right now he was trying to communicate with Mabel through a walkie-talkie she gave him, but couldn't get through for them to talk.

"I'm going through a bad patch Mabel! We'll talk when I get back!"

He banged his hand on the object, trying to get it work but nothing. Twilight couldn't help but wrap her arms like she was cold, recognizing where they were... this was the area where she and Terrence went treasure hunting, the cliff-side of Gravity Falls.
