Phoenix was settled against the window ledge. Her golden eyes flickering across the the yard. Her copper hair glimmering in the morning light as it streamed through the window casting long shadows across the floor. Her lips were tugging into a smile as she pulled her knees to her chest. Her eyes focused on one particular bird that was chirping not to far off perhaps trying to impress the female nestled in the branches of a nearby tree. "If only I could be like you little bird," She spoke. Her voice drifted quietly through the air disturbing the quiet that had settled in the house.

Phoenix Dumbledore had never been out in Diagon Alley or really anywhere in London. Summers were spent hidden in a rather small cottage away from the wandering eyes of wizards. On occasion near her school year the young girl got to see Mr. Scamander however. He was always very warm towards her, and since she went to Ilvermourny she even spent Christmas with them. Phoenix wasn't sure why Dumbledore never allowed her into wizarding world here. (She also was told to call him Dumbledore, which the girl never really understood but that is a topic for another time.) Her only escape was Ilvermorny. She found herself grinning as she recalled the magical place she deemed her second home. Her heart warming as she thought of her fellow Thunderbirds who were all waiting for her to return so they could have adventures once more.

She couldn't hide the excitement that was radiating off her as she fiddled her wand. She'd be heading back in a few days now. She couldn't wait to see Penelope or Vanya again. Nights of Mischief and fun awaiting ever corner as they wandered the great halls of Ilvermorny. Phoenix could go on forever about that place, but a sudden rapping on the door startled the young girl. She quickly faced the door wondering if perhaps she should ignore it, but once her sudden anxiety subsided she realized it was probably Dumbledore. She stood up dusting the dust off her clothes before making her way to the door. A small smile on her face as she opened it to find Dumbledore there.

"Sorry for being so late Phoenix. I was wrapping things up with the ministry and preparing Hogwarts," Dumbledore noted as he stepped into the house. His eyes flickered over her for a moment before he continued towards the living room. "But we have much to discuss please come sit. I'm afraid I have some rather disappointing news." Dumbledore had already vanished to the kitchen and settled at the old dining table. He took his glasses off as Phoenix herself sat down which left the girl uneasy.

"Dumbledore is something wrong? Did something happen at Hogwarts?" She asked cautiously. Her voice laced with concern. Everyone knew what occurred this past year. It didn't take long for word to spread about a Basilisk wandering the halls, and she recalled how anxiously she waited for his responses. Her fear that Dumbledore was among them. She had known Mr. Scamander would have taken care of her, but Dumbledore had been there since she was young.
